Stop making names up, we know those places don’t exist.

Except Abercwmboi, which is where the first Abercwmboi and Fwitch store was opened.

I'll have my Abercwmboi with pouring cream, please...

From watching his tactics video on YouTube, I can see the sense in it.

the problem is, we don’t have bakayoko, Simon’s etc. his system worked so well at psv because he had the team capable of playing it.

the annoying thing is, if we had signed him up in the summer, we would have spent the 30odd million we had on players that would move the squad closer to one who could play ruuds system. Instead, we’ve got loads of defensive midfielders and a few bang average strikers.

I can't imagine anyone would agree to the job without a decent war chest in January being part of the package.

I would be extremely happy with RVN. If we wanted another manager similar to Maresca he is probably the next best thing we can get right now.

You have to say he looks the fuching business.

They'd be no wall left if he asked me to run through it

Ruud Van Nistlerooy's Blue and White army for 90 on Saturday

At least it won’t be Rooney so you won’t have to lock your Grandma away 😉

Never ask for directions in Wales, you'll be washing spit out of your hair for a fortnight.

One thing I like about the prospect of Ruud is that he’ll be ruthless.

It will do his reputation no good to have a relegation on his CV and if he has to upset people along the way I think he will.

I would expect the defence in our first 11 to get significantly stronger as well as at least one new attacker signed.

Can see the likes of Thomas, Choudhury and Coady shown the door in Jan.

@StriderHiryu  - watching your stream earlier, I got the impression that Corberan is more suited to us. He will make us harder to beat in the compact 4-4-2 in defence and going forward the players can use their knowledge of Enzo with his mix of tactics.

RVN seems a higher risk to me. On a tactical level, would you agree, or have I got it wrong?

That’s my take too, but the more I learn about RVN, the more I like about him. Tactically he’s levels above Solksjaer if we’re comparing former Man United managers.

The irony of people from Leicester, which makes no spelling sense in English, laughing at Welsh place names which are always spelt phonetically is hilarious. What about Caerlyr?🤔😂

Sadly, we might have to get used to saying Dutch names right if RvN gets the job. Not convinced by him at all.

RVN is not a novice, he has been a manager and most importantly he has earned his stripes as a coach and. assistant manager as well so he is very well rounded across all facets, managing PSV isn’t a gimme so he clearly has something about him.

We have always done pretty well when appointing ambitious managers with a point to prove and with the hunger, desire and ambition of progressing their careers, Little, McGhee, O’Neill, Adams, Pearson and then Enzo have all been successful examples of this, yes there were also times when it has delivered what we hoped but overall it has been a good strategy for us.

if we want to be a progressive club again then we need to have progressive managers rather than the tired set in their ways journeymen that we could have gone for as the safe perceived options. These types of managers have a limited shelf life and as shown with Cooper very quickly their methods and effectiveness become outdated.

We are potentially recruiting a manager who has managed a top club in Holland, delivering some success and coached/assisted at major tournaments with the Dutch national team, he is far from a novice.

I would disagree with this.

Less than 4 years coaching/management with a bit part for a few weeks with the Dutch national team, does make him a novice. Undoubtedly he had an excellent career as a footballer and would have picked some bits up there, and again as a manager and coach for two good teams.

But he hasn't been in management that long.

PSV was handed to him on a plate because of who he was. He didn't sign any great players and walked out of the club because the hierarchy wouldn't back him. Apart from Ajax and Feyenoord they are a league similar to the Scottish division.

I don't deny he would have the ambition and hunger to do well, he comes across as that type of guy. I just don't understand why people are talking him up so much like he's been managing or coaching for so long, when it's only been a few years.

I think you might be taking this too seriously.

Unfortunately experience doesn't mean success. You'd class Cooper as experienced, but I've never seen our team so disjointed and lacking structure in the way we were set up. Enzo was a novice, yet Chelsea took a gamble and so far it looks to be working for them. Yes RVN is a gamble, but unless you throw the dice you may never win.

100% agree. Same can be said when Leverkusen got Alonso.

I can’t help but notice the amount of pages we got through yesterday in this thread and I think we should mark Tuesday 26th November as:

RVN Learning Day.

We've gone as a fanbase from mainly being split between two old hat names and being a bit uncertain about RVN to people now being experts on RVN and welcoming him with open arms now they’ve read a tactics thread on him and seen two interviews with Gary Neville.

Come sign on you tall beautiful polo necked dreamboat that’s worked in coaching from the ground up unlike British coaches and brought young talent through and has a playing identity…

It’s an on trend appointment if this happens.

Far from convinced myself. It’s like appointing Lampard, Rooney or Gerrard but in Dutch..

He's still licking his wounds from proclaiming his ridiculous "here we go" about Potter only for it to be announced as Cooper about 10 minutes later.
