Anyone who has conversed with a Forest fan recently (it helps if you speak slowly and avoid big words) will know that they are absolutely obsessed with us. They have been for a number of years.

The 'rivalry' they have with Derby is nothing more than a crutch that both clubs use to hark back to the days when they used to be relevant and Forest-Derby was a game that meant something outside of the East Midlands.

Derby are nothing to them now. Hence why they are utterly, almost pathologically, obsessed with Leicester.

It goes in cycles. Fans who remember the 60s and early 70s will tell you it was us and Forest, then it was the Clough thing for a fair old while between them and the sheep. Us and Derby in the 90s because we were both in the Endsleigh/Nationwide/Championship forever contesting the top 6 whilst Forest were top tier media darlings but Forest and Derby spent about 14 years in the same division together before Forest's promotion. 28 consecutive East Mids derbies. If Derby stay down with the dead men for a bit it might go back to being us and Forest again but its gonna be a while.

Funny that forest fans see themselves as some sort of great protector of Cooper's feelings because I thought their away were quite disrespectful to him last month they were singing

"Going down, going down Leicester city, playing football the Cooper way"

And

"Stevie cooperrrrrrr he hates the derby, he hates the Leicester, forest are massive"

I know the he hates Leicester one is what they used to sing when he was there but surely if they wanted to thank him they could have sung a song that didn't mention his current club then he could of acknowledged them.

They played no small part in Cooper's downfall that night. Bizarre way to treat their hero.

FM they're quick to congratulate themselves too.

I had one at a meeting recently lauding it over an Arsenal fan - so much so that the Arsenal fan actually said can you believe him to which I said I could ....... they're massive you know ...... on and off the pitch

What a total bunch of cnuts.

Had a workmate get quite abusive about this last night, he was incandescent with rage but would not listen to reason on why we wanted a change. Just thinks it's stupid and unfair he wasn't given time and that he wants us relegated now (which to be honest, he's told me a few times and I suspected he's always felt that way).

We're not here to please other clubs, the guy was a poor fit and had no credit in the bank with us. Pre-season was frankly shocking and this season thus far has been extremely poor.. it was time to go.

It seems ridiculous that they're getting so angry given they themselves sacked him a year ago and he didn't have the credit in the bank with us from getting us promoted.

I can understand fans being unaware of our performances, no other fans will be as knowledgeable about us as we are; but the anger is a little hypocritical.

In total agreement, he got them promoted and it was good of them to keep him for that first season. Second season, yes granted he had a few more games, but similar position and was sacked. Apparently that's some false narrative I was peddling, I did say if he felt so strongly against us sacking him then why not have him back... he's since backed down.

He's usually a decent lad and I get on with him, but he hates anything about Leicester.. was raging about the PSR stuff too.

They’re always trying to wind us up. Then they all hide in family pubs, using human shields, then cry when we try to go toe-to-toe with them. Pussies. Ignore them. Small club mentality, born out of years of being a small club

I could tolerate it a little more if they hadn't sacked him and improved themselves.

Good enough for us but not them? I see you.

Who cares? Why do they care? None of em would take him back, he’s not good enough.

We care because you’ll probably get a better manager now, and we want to keep as clear of all the teams below us as possible.

love him, but I’d agree he’d have taken us down and it was looking like he’d have taken you down, with Wolves and Palace improving
