If we had gotten him in the summer we would be in mid table by now, the hard work starts now, but I am more confident we will stay up. Ruud is class.

I think the lift it brings, the first thing I noticed when I looked at the table now was Fulham in 10th, 6 points above us, this guy's a winner, he doesn't wanna be involved in relegation battles. I think there will be money in January, I think Top has finally woken up like Ric Flair said on the podcast. I don't think Ruud will be drawn into answering any questions about seasons expectations, it will be like going back to 2016 again when they kept asking about the title, I'm convinced he will keep saying one game at a time keep building at least for the rest of this season.

Listen to his post-match interview, he actually knows what he's talking about. What his ceiling is I don't know, but it's night and day compared to Cooper. The tactics and game state changed multiple times during this match, but Ruud responded every time and was proactive to fix structural fauls. Post match he even addressed the high amount of shots against and the lack of keeping the ball in the middle leading us to get out pressed.

If he gets backed in January, we stay up.

Yes, he has been in charge for less than half-a-week, but we are above the drop, and you can definitely feel like he can only make us better ... and frankly, there are more than three teams in the league that seem to be going in the opposite direction.

A good December, and a few good signings in January, and who knows what the season could bring?

I would love a mid-table finish and a fun FA Cup run.

At this point, I'd love safety . Anything else is a bonus.

We conceded a lot of chances, however, that appeared to be more down to us losing the ball cheaply than organisation or structural issues.

Generally we looked far more organised and can at least see a clear shape and some idea of how he wants to play. Hopefully with a bit of confidence, more time on training ground and most importantly, a few decent signings we get better. Pleasing start.

Was Cooper telling them to do anything? Didn’t look like it to me.
Players are going to listen to Ruud because of what he’s achieved in the game.
It’s clear we’re going to create and score goals. He needs to get us more solid defensively.
Definitely a promising start.

I certainly agree deep down. But I think attitude is important ... we won big, despite playing poorly.

Who is going to be worse affected this weekend: Us or West Ham?

I just hope by the time we play QPR, Van Nistelrooy is comfortable enough to play a strong-ish team (and Ward isn't in goal.)

Thank you Ruud, that is the first time I have truly enjoyed watching us this season, whilst at times we had our backs to the wall it was great to see our team playing with intensity, aggression and wanting to get on the front foot.

we would have conceded a similar number of chances under Cooper the difference being we would have barely laid a glove on them until the last 15-20 minutes and lost 3-1.

The shift in mentality was massive and you could see the players loved it and were revelling in it.

I like the fact he took Vardy off early, it’s probably the best way to manage him. Let him give his all for 60 minutes then replace him. Obviously it probably helps Ruud that Daka is back but it was a promising sign for me. None of us like to see Vardy going off obviously but at his age he has to be managed properly. So pleased for Daka too and if he can stay fit he’s the perfect substitute really.

Early days, but it goes to show what a difference a confident, intelligent and likeable manager can make. We actually have a good shot of staying up now. Imagine if we’d had him in the summer, Cooper imposed the PL points deduction.

It looks and feels like a big result, especially in the context of Ipswich also losing and there now being daylight between us and the bottom three.

Pick up some more points between now and January, and further improvements in our performances, and all of a sudden we're an improving side with a quality manager, excellent facilities and a decent chance of survival. Perfect timing for the January transfer window.

I’ll give Cooper credit for getting some points on the board and not leaving us stranded at the bottom.

I mean, for all his moaning about the refs, had the refs given the obvious foul by Fatawu at Ipswich and Ayews WWE audition at Southampton moments before our penalty for the equalizer, we would have been stranded at the bottom.
