It’s a bit of a strange article. There is a lot of focus on RVN and talks of the club’s mismanagement but no real finger pointing. I also find it interesting that there’s a part in there that essentially says something like “is Rudkin even in charge of contracts?”.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it would not surprise me at all if this was a leak from Rudkin to alleviate pressure from himself and push the narrative of manager / player fallout.

Paying a 38 year old £140k a week is unforgivable, even the Saudis wouldn’t pay that

I doubt he'd be on that much after a new deal but he's still going to be on astronomical wages.

I'd take a relegation if it truly ment this time we cleared the deadwood and had a massive shift in culture. Unfortunately extremely unlikely to happen with Top and Rudkin being the stem of the problem.

problem is it didnt last time. We got rid of some on good money and we just ended up keeping the deadwood and inflating their wages by the sounds of it!

We got relegated 20 months ago and absolutely nothing changed.

Some fringe players who were not selected for the Fa Cup game against QPR went to ask Ruud privately and wanted to know why they were not picked Ruud responded with ‘There are no Christmas presents at Leicester City’

Ruud leaves now with his reputation just about still in tact.

Players have history of throwing managers under a bus, but I think its generous to say they are shit because they don't like Ruud's methods, when in reality they are just shit.

Up to Ruud, or any manager, to get the players on side but its seems an impossible job. Enzo managed it but that was probably only because we were winning, they would have chucked him under a bus too given a chance.

This is basically one of the issues as to why Rudkin is still here. The players love him. Because he gives that lots of money and can keep them connected to Chairman Top.

Exactly. Everyone is talking about being frightened about a fire sale in the summer - the club have got no idea what they're doing.

They'd sell Bilal for £20-25m, Hermansen for £25-30m and that'd be that. We'd probably get promoted (Unless the EFL **** us) and the PSR/lack of transfers/uninspiring manager choice cycle will start again.

According to Collomosse on the BSLB podcast, there were rumblings about Enzo too towards the end of previous season when we had that poor run.

I can literally see a scenario where he doesn’t come out for the second half on Sunday and just goes home.

Like Top then?

Ruud rejected for Bham job in League 1 (for the assistant manager that got us relegated) and getting a PL gig a few months later is wild

To be fair, the article says he rejected Hamburg as well - not a top flight club but one with high potential.

After the Fulham defeat, Van Nistelrooy clashed with Buonanotte over his performance as a substitute but the most alarming row was with defender Caleb Okoli, who did not play at all.

It is understood that Van Nistelrooy turned on Okoli, a £13 million summer signing from Atalanta, over his choice of football boots and insisted they made him frequently slip over.

Okoli was so stunned by the confrontation that he demanded a meeting with Rudkin and now appears certain to leave before the window closes.

I thought you making the bit up about Okoli! :D
