So folks are losing their heads because the caretakers was unsurprisingly shit, after taking over from his equally as shit head coach, with a team that’s currently on its arse….

But if Cooper really is as bad as you and many others have said this season and this squad hated and was being made to look bad by his awful management then removing him should have had some sort of positive impact and instead we just looked even worse. Kind of indicates that the problems go beyond one substandard manager and casts doubts on whether a relative rookie will be able to turn it around competing in one of the strongest leagues in the world.

I'm glad Ruud is in....but would we have lost 4.1 if Cooper was in charge?

He managed a very poor squad and kept us alive in the league, Ruud has a tough first prem job.

January loans are gonna be vital and hopefully his Man u contacts can help

Whatever happens at the end of this season, we need to go back to basis. What we are seeing in the pitch is partly because of shitshow, behind the scenes. We need to get that sorted 1st and build the club up again. I am hoping that Top is taking the bull by the horn and get the right people in to start the rebuilt. We need to be calm and stabilise the club before we can think about being an established club in the PL

I didn’t think Thomas was that bad to be honest.

Get you but that’s not my point.

If we want to move up the league he has no place.

It’s silly thinking…. Most of the coaching team were removed, and his deputy remained….. this group need someone to guide them, and lead them….. they’re not going to get that until a new manager properly gets hands on them……… expecting them to suddenly spring to life when he’s gone is just going to end in the explosion of panic that we’ve seen tonight.

I still think eventually Ruud will have us playing better football than Cooper did.

Need a minimum of 4 starters to come in in January, which will be a very tricky task. The worry for me is I look at our squad and who can you truly say is premier league quality?

Hermansen, Winks, Vardy (just about which is testament to him), Fatawu (injured), Facundo (not ours).

You could make arguments for Mavididi and potentially BEK too but it’s too early to tell.

We need an entirely new defence, a new midfielder, a new striker and a winger to replace the loss of Abdul. We need to identify 3/4 of those 7 that are priority in January and hope we have enough - it’s a big ask.

Yeh 500 million should do it

We’ve seen some bad performances this year, largely driven by lapses in concentration, poor tactics and woeful substitutions. However, today is the first time in a long time I’ve seen us lose a game because of a sheer lack of effort.

People like to scapegoat Thomas and Coady, but I didn’t think they were anywhere near the worst players today and they actually gave 100% IMO. I’d even argue N’Didi and Soumare did too, even though our midfield was a total disaster. Vardy and Buenanotte probably the only standout players but both were far too isolated with our dreadful formation set up.

Faes was a disgrace today. Showed zero desire in chasing back, let Brentford’s forwards glide past him and left Coady exposed far too often. Justin wasn’t much better either, for someone who’s supposed to be one of our fastest players he showed no desire to keep up with their attackers either.

I can forgive the players for having low confidence, being poorly coached and being given bad tactics. But the second you stop giving 100% is the second you don’t deserve to wear the shirt.

At times there was a similar lack of collective effort against Man U and Chelsea. Heads have gone. RVN needs to work some absolute magic

This goes against the new manager bounce theory though, there needs to be a pretty instant impact else it shows that either the manager, the players or both arent good enough. Think sheff utd last season, villa in our title year, derbys 11 point season. If we need to wait a few months for rvn to sort us out in the window or impose his 'identity' then its already to late, especially in the PL. In any case he still has to create a defensive unit out of our current defenders not one of whom is PL quality. So whether we play better or not we are still screwed.

Probably not, he wouldn't have picked that shocking side for a start.

Plenty of positives there to take into the next game.

Only good thing is West Han got stuffed 2-5 at home, our next opponents no less and Ruud's first!

It was one match. Its one thing changing a formation but quite another picking the players to carry it out. Quite bizarre really.

It's press the restart button as of now but with a big dose of reality too. Give the new manager time, it's a big job, he's not a miracle worker!

Personally, I'm looking forward to West Ham, welcoming our new manager and giving him my support! I'm certainly not expecting too much too soon. I'm just happy he's here.

One of the very worst performances I can remember watching in the post Pearson era.

Utterly shameful from at least 4 individuals and as a collective they were pathetic.

I disliked cooper as much as the next bloke, but the problems are significantly deeper than his tactical ineptitude.

Once again, a negative, shit setup. Mavadidi and Skipp ( if Winks isn’t fit) need to start next game. Even with his recent goals, Ayew’s head drops far too quickly, and as much as I like JJ, he’s now regularly getting caught out of position.

Ruud will set us up more attacking, but at what cost to an already leaky defence?

My concern now is that we’re changing the starting team each week. Coupled with the negative, defensive setup, we look like a team bereft of ideas, lacking combinations and confidence.

Two big home games ahead. C’mon Ruud and c’mon Foxes!!!

Collectively, effort and tactics were an absolute cluster****.

Brentford barely had to get out of first gear.

The lack of courage shown by those three centre backs and the two centre midfielders was sackable
