LestaLad Posted 2 January 2025 Posted 2 January 2025 Thought I would start an outgoings thread, can merge it if you want it in the twitter transfer rumours one.
LVFox Posted 2 January 2025 Posted 2 January 2025 His little cameos under Ruud imply he sees a future for him, obviously doesn't feel he's ready yet though. If he goes out, it's on loan because we've bought one or two in.
Popular Post FosseSpark Posted 2 January 2025 Popular Post Posted 2 January 2025 (edited) id rather us lose Faes than Okoli. Faes has more clangers in him... Edited 2 January 2025 by FosseSpark 14

StanSP Posted 2 January 2025 Posted 2 January 2025 No wonder we're looking at Centre-backs and being lazily linked with Maguire and Lindelof. Perhaps Okoli's agent is touting him out...

HankMarvin Posted 2 January 2025 Posted 2 January 2025 Looks like he will miss the gym and facilities. If the story wasn’t total bollocks. 5 year deal, 5 months moved on after playing 9 times 🤔 I was shocked when I saw it for the first time. I grew up in Zingonia [Atalanta’s training setup] and until this summer I thought that centres like that were the best. But when I arrived here I was speechless, I assure you that we are on another planet . There are 21 pitches and one of them is covered. Then we have two gyms where nothing is missing and also in terms of recovery we have everything, from saunas to swimming pools."
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 January 2025 Posted 2 January 2025 I don't think he's very good (I don't think any of our centre backs are) and wouldn't be bothered if we could strike a deal providing it doesn't knacker us even further
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 Not good enough technically for how Ruud wants to play.
It'sblueupnorth Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 13m, god knows how much on wages. Who the **** is signing these deals off
honeybradger Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 He would be fine if we didnt try to play possession football as he's a good tackler but that's the style we're going for so he's not good enough. Just shows how bad the scouting is that the average Serie A fan said we were making a mistake paying so much money for him but the so called professionals at the club could not see it.
Claudio Fannieri Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 It makes you wonder who pushed to sign him, was it a club driven signing or was it someone Cooper had on his radar from his time at Forest, given he lacks technical ability you would have to question if he was ever on the clubs radar whilst Enzo was around. As others have said it just confirms how disconnected the club is in regards to its football operations. 4
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 Funny how many people don't rate CBs who can actually tackle. 🤔 2

Aerial duels won is vital in the Premier League. Beyond that, reading of the game, spacial awareness, strength/use of size, blocks and in an ideal world some pace are all bigger priorities than actual tackle success. You could almost argue that if a CB needs to rely on their tackling, something else is going wrong. Players with the highest tackle numbers in the league will nearly all be full backs and central midfielders. Edited 3 January 2025 by Finnegan 5

Ric Flair Posted 3 January 2025 Posted 3 January 2025 I like what I've seen of Okoli but like with almost all our centre halves it's very confusing. They're all OK in their own right and yet we keep signing loads of them that quickly aren't considered important by the manager. Souttar Faes Coady Okoli All four of them are here nor there, got strengths and weaknesses, especially at this level. Only Vestergaard has the passing ability that sets him apart and his lack of pace makes him and us vulnerable but we feel the loss of him when he doesn't play IMO. Ben Nelson hopefully is better than all of them. Ideally we sell Faes and it looked like we might recoup a fair chunk of what we paid for Souttar but he'll now be out for a year and we face a very uncertain outcome with him. Coady I'd try and move on as well. 2

Van Dijk is pretty known for not getting dribbled past and not diving into tackles unless it’s a last resort, didn’t he set a record of that ilk a few years back 1

Coady seems to be hugely in favour right now, so i can't see Ruud agreeing to get rid at the moment. I think if anyone goes its Faes and we might be able to make an amortised profit on him.
