However good the idea was, I fear the execution is poor and will lead to it all being ignored and dismissed. 

 

The van is embarrassing. Just ad hominem attacks on one person. No examples of the mismanagement despite years worth of picks to choose from.

You can criticise some of the messaging, and I agree that some of it isn't in the best taste, but the fact that the ball is rolling is a positive in itself.

 

The biggest risk to this movement would be a lack of follow up, leaving this as a one and done. The messaging can be refined to continue to make maximum impact.

I enjoyed seeing the protests on the telly. 

 

Also agree that the van would have been better off with more attacking the mismanagement, less low brow personal insults (unless they were damn funny), if you wanted to appeal to the wider fan base, but I ain't mad at it.

No it isn’t, the definition of a fan is being emotionally invested into the club. Caring about every aspect of the club from the grass roots to the budget. The club is more than a hobby, it’s a lifestyle…. And if you’re that invested into the club, then when it starts to drift away due to utter negligence, you’re allowed to show your displeasure. 
 

Just sitting there and accepting all of this as being ‘part of the experience’ isn’t being a fan in my opinion.

I mean, I'm against the more personal attacks on the van, but I'm not pretending that I don't find them funny. They are.

 

My arguments against are about the reaction in the media, other club's fans, and most importantly, the club. If there's even the slightest whiff of bullying is in the air, and right now, it is, the club board are far more likely to rally behind Rudkin, which is the exact opposite of what we want.

 

The chants are fine, pointing out perceived errors is fine, saying Rudkin Out is fine, because all of that is targeted at his role at the club, and that we're unsatisfied with his performance in the role.

 

The moment any comment is made about him as a person is the moment that it becomes unnecessarily personal, and undermines the entire protest.

I basically agree that they are mildly amusing in a juvenile sort of way, but are also somewhat of an own goal if we wanted the media and some of the more disgruntled happy clappers on our side.
