No problem with selling Patson. I think he needs a fresh start. Absolutely hasn’t worked for him. However, we are in the panic buy area of the window and quite worried who we spend the money on.

Scratching my head, not because of merit, but because of MLS rules. MLS teams are permitted a max of 3 designated players (aka big money signings whose wages fall outside the MLS salary cap). Messi, Zaha (on loan) and Benteke are examples of other current designated players. Red Bulls look to already have 3 such players on their roster. There’s certainly ways around it, but it would make the deal more complex to pull off.

They only look to have two?

I was told about this by someone relatively ITK re: RBNY this morning so I think there’s something in this. They were under the impression that Werner was still the #1 target and the more likely option.

Get rid. At whatever cost. This will never happen unfortunately. We need to move on from so many players and he is one for them. The fact there is still conversations in this forum about players like hamza, ward and daka on 2025 is silly. Nearly all other clubs would have moved him on long ago.
