I've always really rated him but injuries have definitely slowed his development.

Shouldn't be a problem though, it's not like we have any other full backs in our squad with injury worries.

Personally think this is an absolute nonsense rumour that screams of his agent trying to shop him around because his contract is up.

It's a couple of weeks too late for me to believe it.

This is the sort of risk a club like ours has to take though isn’t it - finding rough diamonds and trying to polish them into something better.

Here's his injury record:

An amazing player on his day of course, see his wonderful goal against us earlier in the season.

He clearly has an issue with his hamstrings and the fact it's a reoccurring issue doesn't look good. He hasn't missed too many games this season but the last 2 years before this have been a write off for him.

Agreed if the price and wages are right. He's not exactly old at 24 so if we could keep him fit, he'd be a great signing. The fact Brighton don't seem to be offering him a new deal though would suggest they think his injury issues will continue as I doubt they'd want to let a player of his quality and age leave on a free.

Lamptey, even if offers in the PL are not forthcoming due to his injury record, will still have plenty of offers from abroad. He would also be on a decent salary.

We have these sort of links every window and usually it hasnt got much legs. We are used as a pawn to get an agent a move for his client. In return we get some deal of our own.

I would have a look at who his representatives are and see who else they represent. It might give us an idea of who we are really after.

Ahh we’ve got 2 broken right backs who will never be as good athletically as they were 3-4 years ago so why not get another?!!

Nah this is BS agent talk.

Makes absolutely zero sense.

We need good defenders, he isn’t one.

Well it certainly makes more than zero sense as you would be getting a player for a low fee, that is potentially worth a lot more.

I'd pass on him for the same reason.

Nope, don’t believe it. Imagine he was on the shortlist along with Woyo and maybe an enquiry was made but we’ve since moved on. Maybe!

Fits the Rudkin/Glover mould of potential cheap injury ridden risks.

Makes Sense as an option at RWB In the JJ advanced role if he's not really expected to actually defend.

I like it

So what will happen is, we'll sign both of them and then try and sell Woyo before the window closes.

No idea what he’s on at the moment (suggestions are £42,000 a week), but I’d imagine at 24, he’s probably looking for a decent contract salary and years wise.

In terms of risk scale - because all transfers have an element of risk - I think it’s in an acceptable range given the potential upside.

Injuries aside for a second - He's pretty good isn't he?

Poor mans Doku! I think he’s a great player! Can player either full back positions or wide positions.
