There will never be a day when it doesn’t piss me off we didn’t sign him. It was an open goal, such an obvious transfer and it’s he is doing exactly what we all expected. Pathetic

We didnt pay a transfer fee for a single player this window so im guessing we just couldnt spend the money? Rather then us not wanting him anyway

Tactical knowledge is all well and good, but you have to have good enough players to execute the tactics.

They were second highest spend in the transfer window...

You can’t make any calls with only 5 games played, you don’t get any true reflection of team capabilities until at least December & into January.

41 games & 123pts to play for

I thought it was very obvious in 2023/24 we'd go up even this early in. Can't say that for anybody this time.

Worryingly I think Coventry have been arguably the best.

I think Coventry’s 2 big wins skew perception somewhat, scoring 12 goals in 2 games in the same week is mighty impressive and catches the eye yet they have only drawn the other 3 games and fortunate not to lose yesterday with a 96th minute equaliser.

Funnily enough it isn't even that for me, they can score lots of goals but the QPR game was a genuine freak where basically everything they touched went in. They created something like treble as many chances in yesterdays game and ended up only scoring the once. They were unlucky they didn't win yesterday by about 2/3 goals, it would've been a total freak if they'd lost the game.

But like I say nobody hugely convinces me, they aren't perfect and they look like they'll give goals up. I'm not quite convinced Middlesbrough, Stoke or Bristol City keep up what they're doing but the lack of anything from most of the expected favourites is opening the door somewhat.

Find us quite hard to judge. If we'd been playing our best team in these first few games, on our performances and level of opposition I'd put us as very unlikely to go up, but I don't think we've been anywhere near as strong as we're capable of yet so I'm giving a bit of a benefit of the doubt here. We absolutely have to improve though, we won't keep getting away with playing like this even in this league.

Same Coventry who have drawn with Hull 20th, Oxford 22nd and Norwich 10th?

I think they have been pretty average.

League wide open.

Despite our porous defence, on current showing I can't see us struggling too much unless something really silly happens. The table's shaping up more or less as you'd expect even at this early stage, aside from a few outliers (relegated sides struggling, Sheff Utd's woes and Stoke / Boro's good start).

I still reckon we've got enough daft Preston / Oxford performances in us to fumble the automatics this year, but I'd be surprised if we don't make the playoffs now. It's more how teams around us do, and while it's a long old season and someone's bound to go on a bit of a lucky run, I can't see anyone running away with it. Everyone is very much-of-a-muchness.

Will Still wasn’t happy with the opposition manager again I see .

Bad “loser “

He was definitely a 'save before you play a big game and then reload if you lose' kinda Football mananager player.

But in seriousness, social media has bigged him up with the whole football manager back story but hes been rather underwhelming in reality.

Yep. Their performances mostly been very good and should probably have more points than anybody.

I'm probably being unfair on Stoke here who have already beaten Birmingham and Southampton, and have had a surprisingly good start.

Wilder gone back to Sheffield United.

At this point the contract should be for life. Does that club not have any ambition.

Does this means he receives his severance pay from his last contract and his new contract. His contracts must be like ponzi schemes.

Maybe asking for more money too as they are probably desperate.
