Fair play to Blackburn, at least they are fighting. A gutting result for us though. Seems like our points deduction has coincided with those around us picking up, back to back wins for Blackburn and a big win for Portsmouth in the week.

Realistically, given form and/or points on the board, Blackburn upwards are all but out of sight to us. Portsmouth maybe still in it but it looks to be now between us and West Brom. And I fully expect them to get something from Coventry today as Oxford did.

The Oxford game was one of those where we were camped in their half for nearly the whole 90 minutes but they managed to somehow keep everything out.

We've been poor away from home for ages, but the difference now is the signing of Onyeka. He is absolute class in the Championship. He came into the side for his first game for us against Middlesbrough, and their midfield who had been running games recently just couldn't get going. Can see them putting on a defensive display today.

Wasn’t a dig at your lot. I just think West Brom will grind out a draw today as we are now at that phase where all results are going against us to add to our own incapacity to pick up results.

WBA have kept 3 clean sheets all season and Pompey have 1 game in hand not 2.

Apart from that you're right,  Blackburn did win last.

3 clean sheets all season yes I agree with you. But you failed to mention 2 clean sheets in the last 2 games 😆

Clutching at straws here but our goal difference is like an extra point 🤞

It’s not even 3 clean sheets. They have 7 as I had put above. But yeah, even it is was 3, direction is important like you say and 2 in the last 3 shows they are grinding them out.

I don't disagree. Like I said we've been poor away from home for months. In this run we've dropped 17 points from winning positions. The only thing that's kept us where we are is our home form is excellent. But as I said Onyeka will make a massive difference. It's been ages since we've had a player with the vision he has.

Couldn't be bothered to check but I knew their last 2 results as we play them today 😁

Awful league and we are getting relegated with the largest wage bill by a mile! And the DF still has his job 😂

Every team he oversees this season at the club and leuven is getting relegated. His CV must be an utter disgrace.

Charlton are safe. 7 points ahead with 14 games to go. That's half a point a game.

Blackburn are safe. Northern Ireland boss O'Neil took over 2 games ago and they've won both. That's the difference a decent manager makes.

Portsmouth look safe. 4 points ahead and a game in hand. W2 D2 L2 in last 6.

So only 36 points needed to stay up this year then? Gotcha

I hope you do win as we are pretty stuffed if you don’t. I imagine there’d be many Cov fans who’d forego a result today for that reason to be fair!

If there wasn't so much at stake I would agree, but a win today is very important as we're away to Sheffield United next.

We lose and West Brom get a scrappy win today. There is literally no going back

Though Oxford and Charlton games made it feel like we were definitely in a relegation scrap, Southampton for me was the game I fully accepted we're going down.

So why only 36 points? Do you think the team on 36 points that have won 2 drawn 2 and lost 2 in the last 6 will lose their last 15 games?

Below this is WBA. 2 clean sheets in last 2 games. Only 2 points in their last 14 games?

More like 46 points or more needed.

I think we’ll be safe. Rowett’s pragmatic, defensive approach will be the focus we’ve needed all season. Add in some promising loan players.

But more importantly, the utter arrogance of some of our squad will be the defining factor. They won’t want to go down and I think we’ll see quite a few of them really step it up. Winks will have a key part to play and I think Fatawu will show a level of consistency he’s not shown all season.

A bit sad if true but there does seem to be Coventry fans more invested and almost obsessed with regards to our relegation battle than in one of the best seasons they've ever had.

You've already shown that you don't understand how a league table works so it doesn't surprise me that you won't understand why I wouldn't want to see supporters suffering from how their club is run after what happened to my club.

I will say yet again half my family are Leicester supporters and I watch some of your games with my family.

Like to think we have got it in us to finish above Oxford and Charlton over the course of next 14 games. But just shows how pathetic the home games were against those two. WBA the other side in big trouble.

I think you havent understood about how a league table works when you stated that a team operating 4 points out of the relegation zone with 14 games to go are safe you wally.

Charlton are 7 points ahead and W2 D1 L1 in last 4 games.

I agree you have the players, but they haven't performed for most of the season. WBA are the weak side that you're capable of going past.

And I don't think you will catch them. W2 D2 L2 out of last 6 and 4 points above you. If you go past them you will go past others. Can't see Oxford or WBA getting past them.

That's how a League table works.

7 points isn't that big a gap with so many to play is it really

That's how a League table works.

Blackburn looked the worst team in the league the other week and now they're safe (not necessarily in my view yet) because they've won a couple.

I didnt think I would need to point out to a league table expert that the same can happen to West brom and ourselves and then Portsmouths mighty 4 point gap diminishes in to nothing at all.
