Nobody can replace Rudkin, he is absolutely vital to the long term goals of Leicester City, and an indispensable member of staff! - I thought seeing as Top doesn't have a Foxestalk account, I'd put his opinion across.

If KP stay involved its the sort of role I can see Kasper going into it once he's finished playing. 

 

I'd love to see Nige but I just can't see him getting along well enough with the parasites that are involved at that level, agents, businessmen etc

I always thought Puel would make a very good DOF, the roles include overseeing all aspects of the clubs footballing operations including player transfers, scouting and youth development, Puel has a fantastic record of youth development and has a track record of having a great eye for a player, the role also includes being in charge of the clubs philosophy and long term strategy, and finding coaches and staff that blend in with that long term goal. Again, I think Puel is clearly someone who had a long term strategy with us, it didn't work out on the pitch, but if KP are determined to play a specific style of possession based football, Puel could be the perfect man to oversee us signing the right players, staff and managers to build that long term.  

I guess the only real concern I would have, is whether he would have a good grasp of the budget management side of the role (not sure he can get any worse than JR though).

Ralf Rangnick would be my top choice for DOF. Oversaw the rise of Red Bull's global network, and despite it not going well on the pitch at United, he very clearly grasped the issues and pointed them out. If we were serious about becoming a long term success, Ralf would be top of the list if he fancies the role alongside managing Austria.

I think you're perfectly describing about 90% of the people on Rudkin's back to be fair. It's amazing how much the negativity cooled after just the Spurs game

 

He's been here a long time, Top thinks he's important and most people are just venting anger in any way possible.

Rudkin is terrible and has sent the club massively backwards with his incompetence, but I think your post is right as well

Anyone else with a decent knowledge of football and business can easily replace him.

Pearson would be a fantastic choice.

 

Been part of our success with a model I would love is to go back to- young talent with the odd wise head thrown in. Great football knowledge, well connected, gets in well with Top so would bridge the divide between playing and board.

This is why it's such a key position to get right.

Part of our problem is there's nobody with the inside Football acumen to understand how important it is. Certainly not Rudkin.
