I think Woyo could possibly do it on the right but Mcateer is as much use as a chocolate teapot as a winger I'm afraid, a waste of a squad place! He's not fast and can't take the opposition on.

Me too.  Only doubt there is Faes, but for all his switching-off moments it's hard to think that any of the alternatives would be better on balance.

 

I certainly think it's worth gambling on an attacking formation and hoping that we occupy them enough in the opposition half that our defence isn't put under the usual pressure.  When you think of the continual ineffectiveness of our cautious approach, what is there to lose?

How people think Thomas will be an upgrade on VK is beyond me - must have very short term memory.

VK is totally shite and is putting in at least one big mistake a game. You can’t keep picking the same players and expect them to suddenly come good after being shite all season - we need to make changes VK out, Faes out and James out

Hope Mbuemo comes back into form, he's done absolutely jack sh*t since I transferred him in on FPL after a strong first half of the season.

I agree VK is shite, but if VK is shite, then what does that make Thomas? As he is worse? - I agree with Faes, maybe Vesty or Coady is a better option there. JJ is an obvious one - Coulibaly seems to be a much better option from what we have seen so far.

These are the complete opposite of us, I expect they'll make it look far more comfortable than Arsenal managed due to us being a bit braver but using the same system with the same flaws.

Plus they’ll have an attack 

arsenal scored two in ten minutes with a forward on the pitch (and I know he wasn’t a forward but he played like one as opposed to the players there before he came on)

Got work at 5am the morning after this and I literally cannot be bothered with the hour each way to watch us put in another lacklustre performance. It's so, so sad what the people in charge have done to this club with zero accountability.

I would rather see us try something different and be on the end of a 1-4 than roll up and turn in the standard 0-2 performance we've been seeing every week.

Stinks of the Fulham game. One we've left ourselves 'having' to win because of how useless we've been all year, but the truth is this is a team with significantly better players than us and a much, much, *much* better coach. 

 

A relief we've got Wilf for this one as without him I think we could suffer the same result Southampton did in this fixture.

On the basis RVN doesn't veer from the only thing he knows (4-2-3-1), that's the best team we can put out right now. 

 

We need goals and therefore we need quicker players in attack. If we have to bring on Ayew and Reid in the 2nd half but let's try and at least start fast from the off. If you're a full back and you see the OAPs starting, you're already thinking you've got a decent game ahead of you. 

 

Up against a pacier LW and a skilful RW at least gives them something different to think about. 

 

I'd hope Ndidi and Soumare continue to link well. 

 

As for Faes, the lack of alternatives is alarming.

Is he worse? If your left back is costing you on average a goal a game you've got to make changes - keeping him in is bordering madness

VK had 5 tackles and 8 crosses last week. Justin had 1 tackle and 0 crosses.

 

It's gonna click at some point why our full back that is attacking the most seemingly gets "caught out". Like the full back is choosing to do that and it's not a part of the tactics.
