Maresca succeeded in changing the culture for a while, but we can’t rely on the manager to do it. It has to run right through the club. I don’t think Top or Rudkin are capable of instilling it on their own, so the only way we are going get serious change at our club will be if Top is willing to recruit new people to make the decisions. A new director of football should be top of the list - that’s even more important than any managerial change.

This. We need a strong an knowledgeable DoF. Someone who will just tells the players that anything goes through them and not Top and then top will have to just direct anything that comes his way to his DoF. Like it should be.

Definitely need to get the DoF correct, but we all know it will be Rudkin again, which means our fall will continue.

Agree, there needs to be accountability throughout the club - only person who seems to have been punished for underperformance are the managers. How can you keep you job when you allow around £150m of talent to go for no money?

Exactly. As I say, it needs to start with Top saying enough is enough, and wanting to rectify this. He then needs to make the necessary changes to the footballing structure.

Only then will the rest follow.

He’d be a disaster.

Wolves were an utter mess towards the end of his reign not just on the field but off as well. Players falling out amongst themselves, signs of a lack of control within the ranks. Strange has the season before O'Neil was a candidate for manager of the season as Wolves looked pretty good and quite organised. Not sure what went wrong over the summer.

Genuinely needs to be a manager type rather than head coach. Aka we need someone to do the twats above them's job as well as their own.

Maybe it is just Pearson.

I'm thinking from the summer though. Couldn't give a shit about this season. It's buried.

Read the 1st reports today from the red tops that Southampton will sack Juric end of the season and their top target is Danny Rohl as he was after Martin was sacked but turned it down then.

With connections there would he now likely go there even if we did approach?

Miron Muslic at Plymouth has won the team and city over, maybe not next season, but one to keep an eye on for the future.  There's no real budget at Argyle but he is improving what he has to work with.

Nice man too, engages with the fans, as does his team.

Only we could hire someone with a worse record this season than RVN.

Indeed, I might add I don’t want him.

I really rate Liam Manning.  He progressively builds and plays very nice football.

So in Canada when we got relegated last year, we randomly got linked with Manning. I looked into him and he definitely has an upward trajectory. I’m still not sure where such a random link came from.

he’s young (39) and his career is more coaching than playing, which I like as they sometimes have more focus and drive and don’t rely on what they felt they’ve already achieved and learnt.

so after working in some youth teams he got the Lommel job, they were bottom and he took them to 3rd.

he got the mk dons job, they were dysfunctional and he got them to the playoffs… I watched those games they were really good, the strongest team by far and  I was very impressed but they got snatch and grabbed by wycombe.  The next season they lost some key players and things went backwards, they were mid table and mk dons got rid. He got the Oxford job and transformed them and got them pushing for playoffs and quite frankly led the foundations for their recent success.

He got the Bristol job, they are penniless and has them competing for playoffs when in reality they have no right to be in the top half.

He would be an incredibly refreshing appointment and has plenty of upside.

Bristol City fans mostly think the team are doing well despite Manning. All credit being given to the players. We must be able to attract better.

@Ric Flair or @kingfox either of you know much about Alessio Lisci? Seems to be doing a ridiculous job with Mirandes. Based on this article about them/him I don't think our lot would be overly keen on the style of play though.

Don't know much at all but seems to be doing unbelievably!!! Will start to do some research.

Doubt we could get him in the Championship but Inigo Perez at Rayo Vallecano

Was Iraola’s assistant but didn’t move to Bournemouth with him and is now doing well as a manager himself

They sold his best players in the summer

Readily available who I think we have a chance of getting in the championship.

Urs Fischer

Julien Stephan

Brian Priske

Bo Svensson

Mark van Bommel

Kasper Hjulmand

I hope we get Fischer but think we’ll end up with Gary O’Neil.

I've thought ever since he left Wolves Gary O'Neil would end up here. Ticks the boxes - known to the ownership and readily available.

Posted in the wrong thread!

I rarely ever claim to be ITK (because I'm not lol), but I'm out with someone who knows Sean Dyche personally and he has already offered his services to LCFC if we ditch RVN. Apparently he's extremely interested in being our next manager.
