IIRC Brad (the former stadium announcer) asked Vardy on stage if he was going to stay for another year and Vardy responded to say "you'll have to ask John Rudkin" and the crowd booed.

Rudkin didn't like it so went and whinged to Aiyawatt.

Ah I see. Mad to get sacked for that. New guy is shite

Is that the actual reason?

Why would Rudkin running to Top mean the guy gets sacked? He wasn't to know what Vardy would respond with surely?

The new guy just sounds so corporate. There’s been lots of little changes to the club since pre-COVID that has been accumulating to the point that I almost don’t recognise our club anymore. It’s soulless.

Absolutely he wouldn't know, but even though not his fault if it bruised rudders ego it's not like we're logical with our sackings. As others have said, could well be bs but who knows - maybe they'll put a statement out on social in 2026

No no no. This is all wrong.
The club carried out a forensic review of the prior relegation season as promised.
As we all suspected, the root cause of the relegation was Brad not keeping his mic in fully working order. During the Everton game it accidentally switched on as Maddison took the pen and he misplaced it at Pickford.
I think we can all agree this was a fair review and outcome

I can confirm this.

he also failed to announce over 30 goals we scored at home that season that were not reflected in the scoreline as a result of him not announcing them with the outcome being we lost games we actually won and ended up getting relegated as a result.

All of this was accurately documented in the end-of-season root and branch internal review into the mis-management of our disastrous relegation season that was NEVER published but for which Brad quite rightly carried the can.

This is why teams like Chelsea give out 8+ year contracts, yes it sounds absurb but it protects assets from leaving on a free at the end of their contracts. If another team shows interest in a player that's performing highly they would have to pay big money to get them. But on the other hand you could be stuck with someone underperforming for a longer period of time.

8yr contract ffs?

With our recent record in the market 8 months is to fvcking long for some.

Infact edit SOME for MOST.

Ffs rudkin handing out 8yr contracts.

Rudkin  "Doris I need a word"

Doris " yes jon what is it "

Rudkin " sorry Doris we can only offer you 100k a year for the next 8yrs"

Doris " that's great thank you"

Doris walking away " ffs I'm 90 now"

Doris "Oh jon any chance making it 10yrs with a 5m bonus?"

Rudkin "Sure Doris just sign the contract tomorrow "

Add to the list that on Sunday 1 player that we signed this season started....1!!!

What the hell is our strategy? How have the club let the DoF get the club in such a mess.

1 signing people 1 signing!! £25m spent on a CDM that doesn't play that could have been used to buy a promising winger or striker that we desperately need.

I would add the Maguire transfer to the list because ripping off a woefully mismanaged Man Utd has made Rudkin think hes some sort of shrewd operator in the Transfer market. I think if that deal didnt happen we’d be in such a better position as a club because the selling tactic wouldnt be ‘reject any first offer because they’ll come back like Utd did you’ll see’.

Surely there's someone on her that actually knows him. Or someone that knows someone who knows him.

I'd love to see if that stories true.

I'm in no doubt that it is, just interesting to hear it from the source.

I mentioned it before a few months back when it happened, but it kind of got overlooked so I'll mention it again - I met him with some other folks including an ex colleague of his after a match last season and, while he was great company and very knowledgeable, let's just say he was very loose with inside info about the club.

Basically told us [some fairly confidential info about the expansion and its likelihood of happening after relegation. Which at that point was not good, and based on what he told us is now 90% not happening.]

That's coming from someone inside the club structure, knowing full well how secretive they are about anything. If you're willing to tell some randoms in the Blues Bar stuff like that, I can imagine there's more to his dismissal than just getting Rudkin a hearty boo at the Clock Tower. lol

Edited because to be fair I don't want the guy getting legal action from the club if he has an NDA or anything

Both JR and Susan Whelan do read this forum from time to time, if anyone wanted to know 👍

That is hilarious!

So they're on here yet still don't do anything or say anything to interact with the fans to quash rumours and make it clear their position on the club.

Bloody marvelous. lol

Brad was a top notch Stadium announcer. Always loved the local accent, the new guy is awful compared to Brad. Another cockup is guess to add to the pile.
