Foxin_Mad Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Russell Martin is a clown. Even Rudd beat his shit team 2-0, we spanked them 5-0 and 4-0 last year, beat them 3-2 away this year with Cooper. A more pathetic bunch of surrender monkeys you will never find, do the club not look at those results as a bit of a red flag, do they have any clue or are they just for banter? Literally the worst most pathetic manager you could appoint to an already pathetic squad and club. We can not have this absolute fraud and clown at our club.
Claudio Fannieri Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 The worry is if we appoint Russell Martin and his first act is to reintegrate Vesty and Winks, would really stop us from having the much needed reset we so desperately need. 4
CosbehFox Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 You’d think they attempt some kind of appointment which would please fans. Oh no, double down 4
Pliskin Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 @Ric Flair called this about a year ago……. We knew they would end up falling for Brussel……. Isn’t he partial to a wobbly? At least we will be entertaining as we fall apart………. 1
CosbehFox Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Just to highlight that means Top and Rudkin have backed the likes of Vestergaard & Winks over any managerial opinion. 3
Libertine Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 JFC Can we refer to him as RFM as an attempt to manifest the success of NFP? 1
BarringtonHayles Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 So braindead yet again. Boring, tedious football and he’s not even a particularly good championship manager. If he does miraculously get us promoted we already know he’s an utter dogshit Premier League manager, and we’ll be in the exact same situation as this year yet again, panicking and looking for a new manager after 10 games.
EastAnglianFox Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Genuinely cannot wait to start my Ground hopping adventures next season I was pretty much done even before the last couple of days.....now im fully checked out
adam Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 This would be a pathetic appointment. Martin has a very average record and will bore everyone to death. Fuming if this happens
Pliskin Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Is there a delete button for the season ticket? I’m ****ing off to watch Ashby instead.
Swarles Barkley Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Im beginning to think this is now a turning point for my interest in football. Between the circus that is our board to the potential PSR breaches to the shitshow of our potential next appointment For the last 4/5months I have been heavily disinterested in going to games and I think it will just continue to grow into next season. 1
Langston Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Cooper - van Nistelrooy - Martin.. It's like the board decide to appoint managers based on who William Hill make favourites rather than doing any digging off their own backs.. I know Maresca coached in this country but it did show a glimmer of ingenuity.. 1
SemperEadem Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 They just leave you feeling deflated so often don’t they.
AKCJ Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 I don't really know what to make of it. It'll be interesting to see if he's learned anything from this season. I do think that getting 86 points and promotion with Southampton was a good achievement. But there are major concerns to address with that season (and massive concerns about this season). That Southampton team was extremely flaky. When things were good, they were often great but when teams made it difficult they often fell apart. The real concern for me is that this won't lead to a rebuild. I think Martin will be largely pleased with this squad. I can see us only getting a striker and that about doing it for him. I think his appointment suits a lot of the current team.

AKCJ Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 Just now, AjcW said: Our current goalkeeper can't kick a ball and the main one who can is leaving. True. We are about to lose 3 goalkeepers so we'll definitely need to sign one or two. 1

Start watching a bit of local non league football. I love it. It really is taking off. So many people are fed up of being ripped off & treated as customers by Professional Money Grabbers FC.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 21 May 2025 Posted 21 May 2025 When I asked someone who worked closely with Martin previously, and who had also been involved at our club in the past 10 years, they stated he was interested but couldn't see him taking it while Rudkin was in post. Their view was that fans would let the Southampton stint cloud their judgement but the work he did at MK Dons and Swansea, working with limited budgets and developing youth would be what we need and that given the chance we would quickly change our mind. I was against Martin when we held initial discussions pre-Maresca. I then had the chance to listen to him speak about his time at Swansea at roughly the same time, in fact I think he took the Saints job the next day, and I was pretty impressed, especially when he spoke about the limitations he faced at Swansea. I think it's easy to forget he's only 39 and at the start of his managerial journey, there's going to be a lot he learns in each job. He's shown more than many others at his stage of his career who have flopped big time, and the massive red mark against his name at the moment is the Saints stint in the Prem, with and without him they were largely honking. My concern is that he's frequently stated he has a Plan A and it's about instilling the belief in the players that they can do what Plan A requires, if they have to tweak and adapt they will, but Plan B means their not being true to themselves. I hope he's learned a lot since those kind of comments and realises you can get away with that where performances and results aren't as heavily scrutinised but now he's at a point where he needs to adapt against better opposition to get points on the board. 2

Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 21 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 21 May 2025 Only we could systematically take a part a team in the manner we have over the years and be impressed by them enough to want managers, senior staff and players. We deserve everything that's coming to us. I'm now at the point I want to see a cease and desist against this football club. 1 3 1
