He doesn’t get scoops because he’s a cautious journalist & the Athletic is more about analysis than breaking stories anyway. However when he does say something about the the way the club is thinking/moving in, he doesn’t often get it wrong.

This, although there are some Athletic journalists that have assigned clubs who do break stories more often (excluding Ornstein who is their main transfer person). He likes to keep on side with the club, but it has been interesting he's been more critical recently about the board and club comms. Probably feels as frustrated as the fans.

I don't think Tanner said wages were an issue, it was playing style. But if Top is less directly involved now similar to King Power, who knows?

well the way he plays, the fact he doesnt really give youth from within the club a chance, buys older players etc

will probably want a high wage too, probably highest in the league

look at how much better Everton are under Moyes compared to Dyche, same players and its a night and day difference

The buying older players is something I don't fully understand about Dyche.

Only 1 player in his 30 most expensive signing as a manager are over 30 and that's Joe Hart.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl has been consistently linked, but would be very expensive to prise out of his contract. Sean Dyche has also been mooted and would be free, although his wage demands would be high. "

He also said

“Who the next incumbent will be also remains uncertain and the club has yet to meet with any potential suitors”

So maybe the bedwetting can be paused for the time being

rumoured to be £2.5mil for championship sides, 5mil for premier league sides

that isnt very expensive since we paid £5mil on Ayew and 20 odd mil on Skipp

Rohl, Wellens, Challinor

someone who can adapt, not dinosaur Dyche

as I said, we'll be getting the OAPs in the team if he comes, he rarely gives youth within clubs a chance

I just dont understand why people would want Dyche given the types of players we have in the squad atm,

we are basically going back to square one all over again

Rohl I can get behind but Wellens/Challinor a big no thank you. Like I said, game of opinions.

That’s relative to Prem league income, also PSR has now been reduced to the lowest level in about 11 years, with 2 rather poor years of finances behind it

I think the bed wetting should be even more severe if we've met with absolutely no one by mid June.

Exactly, thanks for clarifying!

Why because everyone assumes RVN will get the sack?

He longed out the worst period the club had seen in the top flight and is still here. Everyone is hoping that’s because of annual finances. Maybes that’s wishful thinking

Tanner knows absolutely nothing. It’s quite funny he’s our main reporter too, his articles are just his opinions. He has no inside knowledge of anything.

Exactly. That being a defence of anything this board do is mental

If that was the case, you can report and leave articles open to interpretation with a degree of ambiguity.

What would be the need to stick your neck on line and say the club has yet to meet with any potential suitors?

No need at all. Tanner is cautious - he wouldn’t say that unless he was confident it’s true.

Plus we gained an unexpected £2.5m by beating Ipswich and finishing a dazzling 18th instead of a lowly 19th.

He says it because then it appears as if he knows and people like you will fall for it because at the end of the day, his job is to know stuff, he’s our main reporter. However I think any of us on this forum could tell you we haven’t met with any potential suitors because our board is useless and will probs start looking after/if we sack Rudd.

Problem is, we can’t spend because we are relying on selling to meet psr and it doesn’t seem there’s concrete interest in any of our assets. We’d be having a different summer if we’d had 2 big bids in for Bilal and mads early doors.

we’re probably in a full panic because we might not get the money in we’d assumed

Many of the people on this forum seem to think an appointment is imminent
