The older posters on here will remember Jock Wallace and the physical fitness regime he put the players through - we had a team that would run until they dropped and it got us out of what was then Div.2 (now Championship). Unfortunately this wasn't enough to keep us up when we got to Div.1 (now PL). Fitness has to be augmented with skill and tactical awareness. You need more physical fitness when playing against technically better players as they will make you run round in circles while they conserve their energy for a quick burst past you, or a well timed pass when you're out of position. On the flip side if a technically gifted player hasn't got the physical fitness then Maguire with just knock them off the ball.

winteriscoming Posted 8 May 2025 Posted 8 May 2025 O’Neil is similar to Dyche in that the replacements have shown up those two massively with the same players. 1
teblin Posted 8 May 2025 Posted 8 May 2025 In a WhatsApp group earlier one of my friends said he was on. Was just about to reply and say last time I heard him he didn’t seem to know what he was talking about. Ill informed. sound like he was the same again.

On the premise that he's a coach, not a manager. Bournemouth sacked him when his stock was still high because they felt he didn't have the attributes to be a successful manager, and they haven't looked back since. He initially did well at Wolves but it completely disintegrated because he couldn't control the dressing room. Pereira came in and completely transformed them. O'Neil seems a nice guy and may be a decent coach, but he does not have the character to be a manager - especially in an environment as challenging as Seagrave. I have never said no points deduction - that's always been a possibility and it remains so. I have predicted no transfer embargo and I still don't see how they could impose one, but Rob Tanner seems to think they will. Edited 8 May 2025 by ClaphamFox 2
Dmitry Posted 8 May 2025 Posted 8 May 2025 (edited) It took the cardinals a day or two to elect a new Pope. The imbeciles who run this club couldn’t find a good manager if their lives depended on it…. Just sitting there, blowing black smoke out of their asses. Edited 8 May 2025 by Dmitry
FoxesTalker Posted 8 May 2025 Posted 8 May 2025 RVN hasn’t earned the right to take the club into next season and it shouldn’t even be a conversation. The next appointment needs to be a manager for the long-term and someone who is capable of a complete rebuild, even if that would mean a few years in the Championship. That’s preferable to a quick fix type of appointment like Russell Martin. 2
Guest Bilo Posted 8 May 2025 Posted 8 May 2025 Bristol City losing to Sheffield United at the moment. This could be advantageous to us if we're interested in Manning.

We never learn I think many are sceptical about many names being linked because we've had 2 terrible managers previously. We all know we have got to get this next one right and it's understandable that many won't want managers that have failed recently elsewhere.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 8 May 2025 Posted 8 May 2025 Get that contract ready for Manning and make sure he brings Mehmeti with him
winteriscoming Posted 8 May 2025 Posted 8 May 2025 We’re not getting Rohl. Just my opinion. I’d like Fischer, Quique Sanchez Flores, Priske or Muslic. In that order. Failing that because we won’t go for anyone abroad I hope we get Muslic but it’s more likely to someone like Hassenhutl. We could definitely do better than Hassenhutl but I wouldn’t be completely against it like I would be if it was Dyche or Martin. 1

He had a bit to say did good old Huth Should never have sacked cooper as he thought he was doing an ok job and maybe we were expecting too much this season. Coopers ties to Forest made it difficult for the fans to connect with him and probably caused his sacking Ruud probably shouldn’t be at the club next season as we could do with a clear out with new players so that the fans can have a fresh start to get behind the club. The start of our downfall was not getting Champions League football with Brendan but still having the wage bill 2
