I cannot remember the last time I looked at a squad list wishing the vast, vast majority weren't here.

Maybe the revolving door days around 2004-08 but even then there was the hope of some coming good! To be fair Iain Hume and Patson Daka are probably on a par. We just pay these players £100k per week now...

Normally at this time of year we are worried about who is going to get poached by a ‘big club’.  Different story this time round.

Worrying we've got so few definitely leaving, and other than Vardy, no other first teamers.

No new contracts should be offered, hopefully Ricardo is up for seeing his last year out and accept anything you can for the rest with a year left.

Vardy and Ward alone take £200k a week off the wage bill, which is a start.

Other than that, it's a case of trying to trim the fat where possible. Sell Hermansen, which should bring in a sizeable sum, apparently Ndidi is fancied by Galatasaray as well.

Beyond that, the new manager needs to tell some of the players to find new clubs - especially players like Faes and Vestergaard who are on absurd money, but should be able to find European clubs who'll pay similarly to their post-relegation clause wages here.

There'll be a lot going without a fee, though.

The following players have zero book value and given they will be high earners I would be tempted to cash in even if it’s relatively small fees, possibly could get £5m-£10m for a few -

Riccy P

Ndidi

Justin

Thomas

Vestergaard

also the following will have relatively low book values so could also shift for a small profit and help with a complete rebuild -

Soumare £4m/5m

Daka £4m/5m

Souttar £7.5m

VK £5.5m

Coady £2.5m

Winks £5m

Faes £6m

So there is opportunity to generate some space and move on high earners

This just goes to show that we've got a least 2 years before we can get the squad into any kind of decent state both financially and on the pitch.

And even then, that's dependant on us not stock piling even more shite in the future transfer markets.

Even with competent owners and/or board, it could take at least 5 years for us to get back where we were in the top half of the prem. We are miles behind the likes of Forest, Villa and Newcastle not to mention, Brentford, Fulham, Brighton, Palace, basically everyone above Wolves. What an absolute shit show!

I haven’t got another two years of Wout Faes in me, I don’t think.

If he doesn't find a new club stick the twat in the u15s for the remaining 2 years, absolute waste of skin.

2 bad transfer windows can relegate any club. Let's be honest Spurs and United would be in far worse trouble if the promoted clubs were any cop.

The trouble is, it can take 4 or 5 windows to undo the damage.
