Criminally neglected on the pitch this season and let down by the club.

I'm sure the car crash that this club is right now, the bad results, the lack of appreciation from teammates and the club management, the mishandling from Top to bottom has led to this.

Vardy wouldn't be leaving if the club were better run, and the team not relegated or involved in a relegation dogfight.

I'm convinced he'd have had another two, three seasons with us.

Good luck elsewhere and thank you very much for the memories, Vards!

(And please bang in a few more goals before the end of the season, thank you)

I know he is the GOAT but just following the money I'm afraid. Relegation didn't hurt him enough to stay and take a pay cut to help Leicester back into the Premier league.

Helped us win the league, win the fa Cup, qf of the champions league.  Could've left for a bigger club and stayed

Probably one of the most loyal players we've ever had considering where he could've gone.. give him a break and send him off with your best wishes.

I hope he goes abroad.. as I've said before I could see him settling somewhere like Como.. but he may fancy the US and the money... would hurt to see him play elsewhere in England though

Well this is a bad take, given that he gave his entire career whilst in his prime to Leicester City, you’re going to judge him on maxing his earnings until his inevitable retirement?

Goodbye Legend. Made our dreams come true.

Need a statue of him in a flapping like an eagle pose or howling.

King of Shithousery.

Our greatest ever, no one will eclipse him.

It’s been an absolute honour and a privilege to watch him wear our blue shirt. Simply our greatest ever and we’ll probably never see the like again. Thank you Vards.

The best player we’ve ever had, and loyal which is even more rare in football (unless you’re mediocre and never have any offers) thanks Jamie 🙌

I think he's earned some time in the sun.

If he ends up at Scunthorpe though; he can **** right off!

Says everything about how far our recruitment has fallen that we spent the best part of £100m  (Slimani, Iheanacho, Daka, and Cannon) trying to replace Vardy and combined they aren't fit to lace his boots. No fault of his that it came a couple of years too late.

Not just a Leicester legend but a premier league great. Never seen top quality defenders as unnerved as they were when Vardy was at his best. You'd often see them just boot the ball out of play even if he was nowhere near them. Get the statue built.

Thank you will never be enough.  The last of the immortals.

Build the statue, rename a stand, withdraw the no. 9 shirt and then some.

Gutted.

What a load of bo11ox.

It'll take more than him staying with us to get us promoted next season.

He didn't goto Arsenal when he could.

I find the moment of the announcement rather peculiar. Why not wait until the season is over?

I mean – can we expect the team to play as one for the remaining five PL matches now, in honour of Vardy? Or will the slump, the indifference continue?

He's played a huge part not only in the history of our club but also our own lives. Think about where you were in August 2012, as he was scoring his first Leicester goal on a balmy evening in Devon. All the things that have happened in our lives and in the world since then, his goals have been a constant. 13 years of rustling jimmies. The Vardy epoch.

Give it a rest, he’s done it once already and the club didn’t keep their end of the deal and neglected it.
