I'm about as strong of a Daka apologist you'll find who's name doesn't begin with an F, but even I don't think that Daka is well suited to the system we will be looking at playing.

We need someone good with their feet, who can hold up play, and who can rotate with the wingers.

Mcateer as a make shift option?

Wouldn't be surprised if we got Akpom in on a seasons loan, we were interested in Jan.

I thought this Yano he’s not a winger imo but  could see him playing higher through the middle.

I don't agree with the part about being suited to the system. He was genuinely (relative to the level we were playing at) excellent in Enzo's system. His contributions to all round play were fine.

But he's finished here. Cifuentes would have to pull off an incredible, near godly act of man management to resurrect Daka's Leicester career. His confidence is just absolutely shot, he needs to get out and go back to a league he can take the piss out of again and rebuild himself.

Even I want him sold now frankly. Though given he's the only actual striker on our books I wouldn't do it yet.

Yeah, I can't really disagree with any of that. I really like Daka as a player, but you're completey right about his Leicester career.

Don’t shoot the messenger but sounds an option is  Fofana from Chelsea and I don’t mean Wesley

Datro Fofana.  We were linked with him last season.  Didn't want him then. And he's since had a largely underwhelming stint in Turkey.  I suppose a loan with option wouldn't make me throw up, but I wouldn't be too excited about it.  Feels largely like one of Chelseas failed attempts on a transfer that they're trying to claw their money on.  Think his book value with them is about €6mill, so at best give them the opportunity to get that back if we loaned and kept him.

Chances are it's just a rehash of last years link.

Will be someone on loan from a Prem club imo. Osula, Obi, Louis Barry etc

Maybe this is the best option for us, unless there is a bargain abroad that we are looking at

It would mean no money spent, so lighter on PSR and might be good enough for the championship. There has to be a talented young striker in the premier League top 5.

Think it might have been Ric who mentioned Will Wright, 17 year old at Salford. Seems he has gone to Arsenal for £250k so seems a trick missed. Although I suppose regardless of pathway to first team football, if Arsenal are interested we likely wouldn’t have had a look in.

Think he only had a few games in Turkey but was injured so the loan was cancelled.

The. numbers suggest he did ok at Burnley in the PL so maybe just maybe it would work out in the Championship.

Re Chelsea  read something yesterday in that their new owners to date have  sold 10 players that they bought in. Three they made losses prior to any amortisation adjusted of something like €30 million but the other seven  yielded a profit, agin before amortisation adjustment of €70+ million.

To press from the front and to link play with the wingers, seems to be the main two components that Marti wants.

From a statistical standpoint, I’d be going for Willem Geubbels at St Gallen.

Nah, goes in to a state of shock if he crosses the half way line.

Looks absolutely lost in the oppositions half.
