lcfc_forever Posted 7 June 2025 Posted 7 June 2025 It was reported he was on our shortlist when we looked for Cooper’s replacement but compensation made it an issue. It’s our MO to follow up with targets - Rodgers and Potter are two examples. Hopefully the club learned their lesson having seen how well Corberan did but not pursuing him for the same reason of compensation. 1

Part of me isn’t bothered about going back, but then again I am conflicted given we want our team to compete at the highest level. 2

I just want a season of excitement good football and goals, attacking football and hopefully us in the top 6. If we are mid table ish going for play offs and it's exciting decent football I will be happy, I'm not too fussed about trying to compete in the prem anymore. We've won it, tons of teams will never even get close. 3

This is why I am leaning on Dyche as if he did get us promoted he could keep us up and the continuity would be there in the squad to give us a better chance of that happening, plus he has already proved it. RVN could get us up and keep us up with his own team he has 6 months knowledge on the squad and what's needed but still fairly new to management. Rohl we would have to pay money to sack RVN and then pay money to get Rohl and if he did get us up there's a high chance he jumps ship putting us in the same position as the season just gone and again new to management, if anything RVN has more experience than Rohl won a dutch cup and finished second in a similar league. I would get behind any of these though so not really bothered who gets it. Edited 8 June 2025 by whoareyaaa 1

He also has his sights set on a top league job rather than stay in the Championship. 1

Edouard is probably the most relevant here. How much was wasted on him?!? The board are clueless. 1

Yes unfortunately all the signs are him wanting a German job and also our inability to move forward means he’s a no go in my opinion. I do think he would be interested though if we actually had ownership being pro active. 2

He’s not daft tho as much negativity as there is around us, the last championship manager we had got a gig with a top 7 club, and we are still one of the favourites for promotion. So if you can’t get a job In the top flight, a club like ours is the next best opportunity. 1

Bank on it Justin Cochrane, Frank's Assistant, is odds on to get the Brentford job (he's currently also working part time with Tuchel & England). He's been Head of Coaching at Brentford for 3 years and its just the sort of 'continuation' management that their Board would go for. So, McKenna is likely to stay at Ipswich. Rohl MIGHT still be available for us, but I think, even if he came, his keeness to go to the Bundesliga, will mean it would be a short stay. My money is now going on Dyche (unfortunately). I think Wymsey's intriguing post is hinting that. Edited 9 June 2025 by Outfox the Fox 1

If we can get back up fairly quickly with Nelson and Monga/Evans around the team that would be enough pure profit to fund an alright Prem side, if we aren’t super Leicester about it all and spunk it on shite
