Buying Skipp for 20 mill and selling Mads for 18 mill makes me want to throw up

Spot on. Anyone that thinks this is a good deal...never talk to me on this app please!

Good move all round this. Nice profit made on him. I love Mads, I think he will go on to be one of the best in the world. Fantastic shot stopper, amazing with his feet, and has still time to improve. Genuinely wish him all the best, and hope he goes on to achieve what o think he can.

Just when we think maybe the board are turning a corner by signing Marti and actually having some good PR around it for once, and seemingly looking at players like Kone on cheap fees and selling the likes of Coady, they go and get a god awful sum for a player as talented as Mads, Man City have just spent £30m on James Trafford and we can’t even break £20m on a guy who pre injury was statistically top 5 in all of Europe for expected goals saved.

Good luck to Mads, great player with a big future and it helps us with PSR, but this deal absolutely stinks, he’s worth 25-30m of anyone’s money. Hopefully we have a decent sell-on clause added to justify such a poor fee.

Mads going to W Ham and KDH to Everton just highlights how far we have fallen away. Solely sits at the hands of our owner and board.

Or they are ok Prem players and not truly top class like we often like to brand our players. I’d rather we spend a bit of time generating the next true talent from within our academy and going back to basics a bit.

Fee appears less than we hoped but, more important now is we reinvest well in a striker…..and maybe a new 6.

Jakob will do fine. Time to reinvest. Onwards.

Absolutely…. I’m beginning to despise them

£18m would be a very good deal - i would expect a profit % sell on to be in there as well, but you know, Rudkin.

Shame Stolarczyk didn't get the Fiorentina game.

Must be the only one who thinks this is a decent move.

Meslier 2.0 who spent more time picking the ball out the net gone for pure profit! Replaced by an Academy keeper who's frankly as good a shot stopper.

True, but Rodgers was happy to drop Kasper and play Ward in front of him. Puel bought him as back up. Rodgers wanted him to be our number one keeper. And anyway, Rodgers deserves shit for buying Ward, even if he didn't!

I think that only happened once, didn't it? (when it was already clear that he was leaving). Rodgers'error was in assuming that Ward was a valid long-term replacement. Even so, the hefty fee paid for him to become the eventual successor was all Puel's work.

Claude made some very decent signings (albeit for players who, in my opinion, lacked the sort of mental resilience that we leaned on so heavily in the Pearson and post-Pearson era) but there were also a few duffers. And the idea that he was the architect of Rodgers' success is a tad over the top too when you consider that roughly the same number of Pearson-era players featured in the FA Cup win as Puel-era signings.

Clubs know we need the money and will try it on and it looks like West Ham succeeded. Absolute bargain for a top goalkeeper. Thanks Mads 👏🏻

But it is though, we got lowered offers for Barnes and maddison when we got relegated.

The problem being is that the other clubs know that you have a Premier player in the Championship & recognize that you probably have to sell. Relegations set clubs back more than just the one year in the Championship !!

Top just cannot wrap his head around the fact that we need a competent DOF.

This just isn’t true. Up until his injury he was probably amongst the best keepers in the league last season and the only reason we didn’t have -457 goal difference

Was he though? I feel it was Coopers dog shit tactics that made him look better than his level. Like the Arsenal game getting 10+ saves despite letting in 4.

Ended up with 64% save percentage. And the fact it's West Ham, who are in large one of the shitter PL sides now, says a lot to me. If Chelsea want him they can come in now with £20m but they're not.
