As always it's the sheer lack of imagination that absolutely baffles me. 

 

This club is so desperately in need of footballing intelligence.

I guess all we can hope is that he has actually learnt and realised that you do have to tweak your style slightly depending on who you are playing. Though I won’t hold my breath

Definitely, his football led to many mistakes, although I believe if Championship strikers were any good we would have conceded many more goals as defensively our record often flattered us I felt, but the stats say different so it's just a matter of opinion. 

Last season I saw Martins Southampton as a look into the future of what would happen to us if we went up and tried to play Enzoball with these players and without £100m+ spent. 
Sadly it looks like we are going to be seeing it next season.

Russell Martin is in contention to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy as Leicester City manager, talkSPORT understands.

 

The Foxes have also held talks with Sean Dyche.

 

Ex-Southampton boss Martin has made the final shortlist at Rangers, but the Scottish giants are believed to be leaning towards reappointing Steven Gerrard.

 

Van Nistelrooy is yet to be told his future by Leicester's hierarchy.

 

However, he is almost certain to be sacked following relegation to the Championship this season.

It's so on brand. Unfortunately for us that brand is horrific, short-sighted, reactionary football decisions that are so far detached from reality.

 

We need to be building a new foundation, with the aim of re-establishing the club in the Premier League. Southampton this season provides no greater proof that Russell Martin is incapable of that. For that reason he shouldn't have even been on the shortlist.

 

This obsession with Southampton is weird, but this obsession with possession football is weirder. The world is starting to turn against it and we are doubling down. Have they not heard the frustration in the crowd? It's been there since Puel, on-and-off, when the team is too slow, too ponderous, too timid and too sideways. It just doesn't go down well with the majority of Leicester fans.

 

I can only assume it's pure stubbornness at this stage.

Think there’s some disservice to Enzo when comparing him to Russell Martin. Both have their styles, but Enzo is a lot more practical than Martin’s ideological stuff. Enzo would adapt tactically during games especially in attack, Martin does not do that. 
 

They clearly think that that style is enough to get us up again but Martin is not Enzo.

Take the deduction this year, manager in really early, young squad with an identity, bounce back and make changes when promoted.

 

None of the above will happen. Ruud’s payoff and the loss of 3-4m in finishing below Ipswich will surely mean zilch to spend in the summer. Brussel in seat = keeping some of those shit attitude possession players around too.

 

This is not the direction I’d want us to go.

I think this is the most imbecilic appointment so far. Fans need to be singing loud at Bournemouth King Power Out, We don’t want Martin, Rudkin out. 
 

This guy is worse than Rudd what possibly makes the club think he’d be better? Rudd beat his team, he beat the media love McKenna.  Why waste the money on a sideways move. 
 

I was correct about Cooper being shit, this guy will be a whole new level League 2 incoming.

If it's true that we have spoken to Martin and Dyche, there is no greater evidence that our football club has absolutely zero strategy or vision, despite what they sometimes tell us. You could not get two polar opposite styles of play.
