They kept pace with both us and Leeds who were also expected to finish in the top 2 as sides that'd all been relegated. The outlier being that Ipswich had the season of their lives and gatecrashed the party. To add that they also beat Leeds three times over the course of the season, despite us losing both our games to Leeds. Where they struggled were against some of the lesser sides in the league, points dropped that we converted to wins. Kept pace with us in the same sense as Tottenham kept pace with us in 2016.

SunSport can reveal the 39-year-old remains one of the names in the frame to replace sacked Philippe Clement, despite interest from Leicester City. This will be to push us on. He will be our manager and we all know it. We all called it 5 months ago that our board would love him. King power and Russel Martin are a match made in heaven, unfortunately, the club of Leicester city us fans will suffer! 3 1
nnfox Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 I actually think that Rangers would be a good move for him. His style might do well there with the second best team in the league. If you were Russell Martin and looking to map out a career in elite level football management, he goes from bottom half League 1 MK Dons, gets them to mid table. Then joins Swansea in the Championship, gets them from bottom half to mid table. Then he takes over at Southampton and takes one of the favourites for promotion to the Premier League and then gets really found out. Joining Leicester is surely a backwards step? Rinse and repeat the Southampton job? Maybe he sees himself as forging out a career as a promotion specialist? Rangers would be something different. Gives him the chance to win actual silverware and play in Europe. All good on a CV. If he does OK at Rangers, he'll be able to walk into a mid table Prem team in two or three years. He's played for Rangers too, and he's Scottish 2

Occasionally you may venture into the opposition half but then soon return to your back 4 in fear of being too 'risky'. Cant really tell you what happened in the middle of the games as I was often asleep. I occasionally managed to remain conceious.... so I can confirm fu#k all happened 1
Winstonthedog Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 No matter who is appointed... the view of the club is . . Get the job you'll get a 3 year contract... results don't matter and when you've shown to be a total waste of space ... guess what .... they give you a massive pay off because the useless dumbshits have no idea how to negotiate a contract that protects the club in the event of failure

Leicesterpool Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 West Brom still to name a manager, wont be surprised if hes speaking to them also... Go to the Baggies Russ
simpmeister Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Already done and dusted I've been told. Ruud going should be announced today and then Martin announced either today/tomorrow. Martin wouldn't have been my first pick by any stretch, but we just have to back and give him a chance. The quality of the championship is poor so he should still have us pushing top 6 minimum but I do worry about the style that will be served up. The board strikes again!

But we're going to appoint a manager who was even worse! Do the board just go on an interview, or do they actually look at how the candidate performed doing the job!? There only ask one question ... do you want the job ... and before the applicant responds ... they say okay its yours ... 1

Foxin_Mad Posted 27 May 2025 Posted 27 May 2025 Pathetic waster for a pathetic waste of a club seems about correct I suppose. Should complete the transition back to mid table championship that KPFC are aiming for.
Stevosevic Posted 27 May 2025 Author Posted 27 May 2025 Not my first pick but think people are forgetting how much they were waxing lyrical about Saints the year we were promoted. During the unbeaten run they went on many on here were saying how much better they were than us at the time.
Popular Post kingfox Posted 27 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 27 May 2025 If it is to be Russell which is looking highly likely, the thing that pisses me off the most is this boards continuation to cripple themselves. To be so reluctant to actually pay a release clause for a manager is lazy. They are just making their net even smaller, and we can bang on about the more hipster names all we want, but when you break it down and see who’s realistically available, it’s as if they’ve constrained themselves to a predictable, uninspiring list. They’ve probably just concentrated on names like Martin, Dyche, Hasenhuttl, O’Neil and plucked for Martin just because he aligns more with our previous style. You look at teams like Brighton and even Sunderland last summer, you can tell just how thorough their managerial processes were. They want a specific manager that aligns with their continued philosophies. But what on earth is our philosophy? It’s as if they are just trying to amend the appointments they made this season, we fvcked up on Cooper and RVN, let’s just go back to a heavy possession style, it served us well last time and Russell Martin is free. I’m currently 60/40 in the feeling that Russell may actually do a decent job for us in the Championship, but I seriously worry about the long term ramifications of this football club, especially if he continues to be stubborn and doesn’t evolve. There’s absolutely nothing thorough and long term about our managerial processes, it’s fvcking infuriating. 7

Everyone has a for sale price, and every player has 2 replacements waiting in the wings, one already at the club and one heavily scouted to the point where the club know they can agree a deal quickly. 1

To be honest a lot of their unbeaten run was again the shitest run of teams available and a fair percentage were actually draws, it wasn’t all that. Unless the guy has had a complete reawakening it will be playoffs/mid table at best, the league is going to be stronger than ever this year with Sheffield Utd, Southampton, Ipswich, Wrexham, Birmingham, Coventry probably all up there
