Have big sympathy with the Palace fans but absolutely none for Parish. Don't know how he is viewed so differently to someone like Ashley as an owner. Happy to sit at the top table and take the scraps from the big 7 with little ambition outside of that, he said as much when the super league stuff was going on.

Marinakis doesn't care about Forest. It's a side project for him, a money making/laundering machine alongside certain agents. Forest fans are in for a big surprise when he will eventually abandon the "project". It will be too late though for their beloved team. They'll end up in National League.

Apparantley now they are looking at Forest, how did Stavros meet the march deadline when he only filed his shares to be sold in April ? might be interesting, might be nothing.  If I was palace I would pull out all the stops for the CAS hearing now as forest havent held back so I wouldnt either.

I've just seen them referred to as Cycling Mikey FC and it's actually perfect.

Hope palace with the conference league and forest get knocked out at the earliest opportunity in Europe, are relegated and quickly liquidated, Marinakis goes to prison and ends up becoming someone's prison wife named Maisie, the City Ground is attacked by aliens and every single of one of their troglodyte fans suffers a catastrophic anal prolapse in Tesco.

Fixed.

Seeing the Forest fans meltdown over MGW is absolutely glorious 🤣. We've been there many times ourselves when we've lost big players and it can be frustrating but forest fans seem to think they are in the elite now as they got in the EL on a technicality. They are still a feeder club for the big clubs like all the clubs outside of the "cartel" are.

Gibbs White is exactly the profile of player you'd expect to sign for Spurs. It's like they just have a specific archetype of person who plays for them and it makes up 80-90% of everyone they sign. It's like how Maddison always seemed a perfect fit for them.

Can't quite explain it. Wirey, technically-minded "nice lads" who look like a breeze could blow them over whether they're tall or short. You just know White Hart Lane is calling them as soon as they start to develop. Alli, Madders, Son, Brennan Johnson, Mathys Tel, Archie Gray, Djed Spence, even Alderweireld was an absolute twig of a centre back. It's not like they're choosing these players just on the wings, they're in every position. Even Solanke always felt like a very "Spurs-coded" forward, so of course he ended up there.

So yeah, MGW being a Spurs target is probably the least surprising transfer news of the window. Perhaps we could fool them into taking Faes given that the gangly muppet thinks he's prime Beckenbauer...

My prediction is that Gordon ends up there once Newcastle get bored of him, or via Liverpool if he goes there and flops. The lad just SCREAMS Tottenham to me.

Puma extend their partnership with Man City for another 10 years worth 1bn!!

Wish they’d have all just fvcked off into that super league tbh

aye how can it ever be a competitive league

Manchester City have extended their kit partnership with Puma for at least another 10 years, with the contract understood to be worth a minimum of £1bn, making it the largest deal in the Premier League.

City initially signed a £65m-a-year deal with the German kit manufacturer in 2019 but the parties have agreed an extension until at least 2035, worth a record £100m a year to the club.

That figure surpasses the £90m deal signed by rivals Manchester United with Adidas in 2023, while champions Liverpool will also be with the same manufacturer from this season after agreeing a reported, external £60m a season.

City have enjoyed an unprecedented period of success since 2019, claiming four Premier League titles as well as the Treble two years ago, but finished last season without a major trophy.

Commercially, the two parties have achieved club record sales globally, according to City.

City Football Group (CFG) chief executive Ferran Soriano said: "We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond the expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons.

"Puma have seamlessly integrated into our organisation, and we have enjoyed many historic moments together, engaging fans globally."

Even the Land of the Free and survival of the fittest is structured to ensure a relatively competitive set up.

The NFL's financial structure involves a combination of national and local revenue streams. National revenue, primarily from media deals and national sponsorships, is shared equally among all 32 teams. Local revenue, including ticket sales and local sponsorships, is retained by the individual teams. This dual system allows for competitive balance while enabling teams to invest in their local markets.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
National Revenue:
  • Media Deals:
The NFL's most significant source of revenue comes from national television and media contracts. These deals are negotiated by the league and the revenue is distributed equally among all teams.
  • National Sponsorships:
The NFL also generates revenue from national sponsorships and licensing agreements, such as those with Nike for apparel. This revenue is also shared equally.
  • Merchandise and Licensing:
Revenue from the sale of NFL merchandise and licensing agreements is also shared nationally.

Local Revenue:
  • Ticket Sales:
Each team keeps the revenue generated from ticket sales at their home games.
  • Local Sponsorships:
Teams retain revenue from local sponsorships with businesses in their area.
  • Stadium Revenue:
Revenue from concessions, parking, and other stadium-related activities also goes to the individual teams.

Team Expenses:
  • Player Salaries: A large portion of team revenue is allocated to player salaries, which are governed by the NFL's salary cap rules.
  • Stadium Operations: Teams are responsible for the maintenance and operation of their stadiums, including upkeep, marketing, and administrative costs.
  • Operating Expenses: Other expenses include travel, equipment, and player development programs.

Key Points:
  • Revenue Sharing:
The equal distribution of national revenue helps ensure that all teams, regardless of market size or performance, have a base level of funding.

  • Competitive Balance:
The revenue sharing system helps level the playing field, allowing teams in smaller markets to compete with those in larger markets.

  • Stadium Funding:
Stadium construction and renovation costs are often subsidized by a combination of team investment, local government funding, and sometimes, league funding.

  • Private Equity:
The NFL recently allowed a limited number of private equity firms to acquire a stake in teams, introducing a new source of capital.

120m bid apparently, and they're still yet to reinforce deeper in midfield and at CB. They could well be looking at a spend of like half a billion this window. Honestly how are we even meant to compete (I know we're not)

They will also have made quite a lot of profit on Quansah and Kelleher and will presumably sell Diaz and Nunez for big fees. I dread to think how much they've made over the last 10-15 years shipping out players they don't really want - we did our bit in that of course.

they have also priced Harvey Elliott at £40m with a buy back or £50m without after the equivalant of 40 * 90 minute premier league matches.

Would assume they will insert a sell on fee % also.

They should hold out for £150m, Newcastle have no pressure to sell at all

I see Brentford are taking extra steps to secure relegation this season - fair play 👏

We'd have been all over this if we were still in the Prem, probably give him the extra year to secure it.

And tragically maybe have to replace Jota ?

They can have Skipp and Faes if they wish.

Difference is that we would promise him first team football and pay him 3 times what Brentford are

Couldnt care less about Palace. Dont own multiple clubs simple as, same for Leicester if we were in europa league but couldn't play due to Leuven being their aswell we would just have to settle for conference league. Its rules Palace have not been cheated.
