Not sure if true - from FB

May be an image of 2 people, people playing American football, people playing football and text that says "Aston Villa to force fans to watch womens football ASTON ASTONVILLA ON 1874 VILLA CAZO CAZO Search, Driva ve Drive S Driv CAZ CAZ"

Aston Villa's dystopian big woke joke!

Wasn't aware cave-dwellers could gain access to WiFi.. 😯

But Villa's offer is a matter for their fans to deal with. They're not being forced at gunpoint to attend WSL fixtures.

Feel like Arsenal always play one of the 'big boys' on the first weekend (including the time they played us lol )

I suppose Man Utd still fits into that category?  But let's face it,  nowadays any team can beat them and last season frequently did. 😂

Liverpool at home opening day, the two games over Christmas and last game lol

I suspect they were away originally for opening day but then Everton asked for another week preparation. Either way its still mad

Glad to be missing out?

Fans have been warned by the Premier League that fixtures could be moved at "relatively short notice" next season because of the number of teams playing in Europe.

A record nine top-flight clubs have qualified for Uefa competitions in the 2025-26 campaign.

The Premier League said there is an "increased likelihood" that games will be rescheduled if English teams reach the latter stages, and it suggested fans take this into consideration when planning their attendance at games.

No Boxing Day fixtures but it's alright because we get to watch Chelsea play Timbuktu at 2 in the morning in the Club World Cup :dunno:

There will be I suspect .

Or Sky are keeping it clear for the EFL.

Palace's first home game of the season sees them welcoming Notts F*rest.

That ought to be quite amicable, eh?

All arranged for 27th but the tv companies are likely to move them across.

Rumoured to be happening up and down the pyramid but the clubs can choose to move - much like Good Friday/Easter Saturday

Hope so. Playing Good Friday then Easter Monday is such a pain too when you're back in the football league.

I quite like that football league double header

Maybe a good chance to keep boxing day for non league fixtures to help boost attendances in grassroots then premier efl the following day.

They've already said fixtures will be moved for TV on Boxing day.

But they've allocated it to the 27th which is a weekend because of the amount of weekends they have selected rounds for. They've done away with FA Cup 5th round in midweek, and no PL games in the 6th round. There's only 5 mid week rounds so I guess it impacts on TV deals.

I don’t watch loads of football but I’ve watched Germany and Leverkusen a few times and I’ve never been impressed by Wirtz? Is he actually any good?

He's absolutely fantastic..

This Liverpool signing, on a basic level, is why the top clubs, regardless of ownership, blend into one really. £116 million here, £105 million there. All miles away from where most of the top flight and the pyramid reside.

£200m worth of signings leave for free

Again not us but Everton

I think this is something we beat ourselves up on - but its a problem in a lot of places and Everton won't be the last club to face it. We (and i think Everton do as well) make it worse because we have overpaid salaries and clubs arent going to match those salaries when they can see players aren't worth it. Players happy to clock watch and recoup future salary deductions with singing on fees. The player has little to lose.
