Doctors got the 22% and then 5%.

Ability to strike makes a difference it seems.

It does.

Something that places like France appear to grasp rather more than the UK does.

Will they come back for more next year and what will other public sector workers think ?

Maybe the police could trade some of their pension provision for up front salary? but ultimately, in terms of total reward change, Police have fared better than doctors across the same timescales.

Employer pension contributions increased from ~21.3% → 31% (2020–2023)35.3% from April 2024....  That's a crazy high pension even by public sector standards!

I know many who’ve had to come out of Pension schemes to pay bills

Aside from the public sector we have a big pension problem in the UK - record numbers of people not paying in, and state pension age about to increase again. I think the average pension pot at retirement is less than £100K or something, bonkers.

The same question in our industry puts us at 18% down from 2010.

With the public sector pensions being as attractive as they are and the current government moving against pensioners I would recommend to anyone they need to work in the public sector at some point in their career.

Good question.

But I don't begrudge anyone the right to withhold their labour. It's a valuable right that has been fought fiercely for.

Where can I watch this new Southpark episode?

On Paramount+, I would guess.

Of course, I absolutely would not float the option of sailing the high seas for it too...

Yeah, and that's just one facet of the demographic crisis on the horizon and closing fast.

Just watched it this morning, it's brilliant.  Literally launch this episode a day after securing the new Paramount deal toolol.  The desert walk bit at the end had me in tears.

Truly incredible. Absolutely merciless. I hope he watched it.

Photos and stories coming out of Gaza really remind me of Bosnia, but perhaps even more extreme than that.

I can’t fathom some of the stuff I’ve seen and read these past few days.

We're so numb to most stuff now but starving children sets off something that must be innate to us. It is grotesque.

Meanwhile for those who missed it, here's the link that was displayed at the end of the episode:

https://southpark.cc.com/sites/hetrumpedus/index.html

It has a link to the clip at the very end of the episode for which I've spoilered the context down below:

The episode had residents complaining that Jesus kept turning up at school as it was against the separation of church and state so Trump threatened to sue them for $5bn

Final warning: the video is absolutely NSFW. Or life. Or valued relationships. Basically don't let anyone see you watching it out of context.

Corbyn and Sultanas party gonna be called the Your Party. genuinely a worse launch than the independent group for change or whatever they were called.

That said, the Abbott and Costello opportunities in canvassing will be banging.

"who are you voting for"

"Your Party"

"My party?"

"No, Your party"

etc.

Honestly can't believe they didn't go with 'The Worker's Alliance for Truth and Solidarity' or 'Citizens United for a New Tomorrow'.

Even 'Jezbollah' would have been brilliant.
