In fairness it’s all about opinions, some managers people like others people don’t. I think it’s about how fans perceive playing style, player profile and how they will use the academy prospects, personally whilst I know he had faults I loved Enzo, had a clear philosophy that i liked, set a winning culture and mentality, challenged the club to be better in everything we did, used our academy, there was a lot to like.

With Dyche, he is everything that I don’t like, playing style that is defensive, dour and lacks flair, isn’t a massive advocate of younger players, his methods are out dated and limited, also I think he has run his course in top flight football except as a fire fighter for 10 games to try and get you out of relegation trouble.

His time was 10 years ago, what he achieved with Burnley was really good, but they were and still are a very different club to us. Dyche is a great fit for certain clubs and situations, and for me neither is the right fit for him at LCFC.

I get that he isnt what you want compared to the type of manager you want, but what is wrong with saying something like "not my type of manager, but will give him a chance to prove me wrong".

It does feel like we have people who cant let go of Enzo and wont be happy until we employ a clone.

If appointed whilst I will be very very meh about it and far from excited, as with Cooper I will still want him to prove me wrong as the most important thing is for the club to be successful. However like Cooper there are far too many red flags that make me think this will wrong person, wrong time.

Anyone thinking Ruud would be better than Dyche I really can’t understand the logic.
I don’t want Dyche but rather have him over a guy who oversaw 17 defeats out of 19 and 9 consecutive home games without scoring.
Neither should be in consideration for next season but I’d definitely have Dyche over Ruud.

I agree. People say Rohl is a risk but the floor as you say; is a lot lower and much more financially draining with Dyche than with Rohl. The potential rewards are much higher with Rohl also.

I'm saying this from a position where I think people are generally quite harsh on his capabilities as a manager. The Rudkin thing is a problem for me though, this is going to create another unaccountable body at the club. He will be bulletproof and while he might be a success, if he isn't, I don't think we can risk that personally.

I thought the 'top training complex' has been part of the problem according to some on here. Too pampered etc. Don't think Vestergaard will be walking his dog around if Dyche is there.

hopefully Vestergaard will be no where to be seen....

Dyche played for Watford in the first league game at Filbert Way in 2002. Nice little link there.

He may not necessarily be the most exciting appointment, but if it does come off, crucially he could be the right appointment for the club's current predicament.

His existing relationship with Rudkin would be a concern though, and of course his track record with young players/signings in general.

Don't forsee this happening based off that Telegraph article, which intimates that Andy King will be the interim manager when Ruud leaves, that leaves us waiting for Rohl you would imagine?

Dyche had Everton 2 points ahead of us until he was fired

We need someone to sort out the mess and who won't pander to any of the players.

Maybe not longer term but a couple of seasons sorting us out would be good.

I’m against him long term

short term though to stabilise the current squad and get some fight back then yea I’m all for unattractive  back to basic football until the club is sold on and we bring in a known figure for publicity like we did with Sven to promote the club in some far unknown land to minions that will buy shirts and fill forums with crap

hope it’s not African owners though 👊🏽

i know some of our fans are saying Dyche for the short term but we cant look at short term, for the pure fact of the mess the club is in

we need a manager with a footballing ideology that the next manager can follow etc, a blue print, kinda like what Brighton do, and all due respect to dyche, not many managers nowadays play his way

Build from the back, they say. Defense wins Championships, they say.

Love him or hate him – right now, I think we do need a manager like Dyche. Never been a big fan, but if he helps us shaping a team that deserves that name and instills a "ne'er quit" mentality, I'm in.

Some players, the main culprits from this joke of a season that has just passed, do need a good kick up their arse.

Wasn't that Cloughs ethos? do not concede then you only have to score at least once?

Gotta smile at some of the anti Dyche myths getting trotted out, mostly regurgitated from the odd Everton fan that took Accrington Stanley to the Premier League Title on FIFA computer.

Dyche would very likely get us promoted back to the Premier League at the first or second time of asking.

I understand why people are looking past that detail and wanting a certain style and talk of someone with a higher ceiling, but the risk of not getting promoted and being stuck in the Championship for a prolonged period is greater without him IMO.

If it is Danny Rohl, then I will support him wholeheartedly and hope the fawning over him, is justified. However, If he fails, then I suspect we will likely be stuck down here as the gap to the Premier League widens year on year, and Top continues undoing everything good his Father did.

I’d take either at this point, but still believe Dyche would be the most likely to take us back up, and the importance of that cannot be understated, due to our on going financial issues.

Less screwed with a year in the Premier League and the value of that. It also allows for attracting better players and Manager.
