Yeah really cementing our valuation here. He's not going anywhere you have to feel. Prem clubs that might have been in for him are running out of PSR headroom and there's no one abroad that will pay money for him other than Saudi, and he apparently doesn't want to go there. 

 

Tough times for him and his mum after they fought their way to get out of Genk to come here and sign a 4 year contract.

Nor will they be for the fee's they're getting for these average joes. We have to capitalise on this ridiculous market and sell who we can for the highest prices and to be fair we have been so far.

Certainly seems like it.

 

I wondered also whether it's just this absolute desperation to sign people who have played in the division before. Like everyone is so terrified of getting relegated they think the only solution is people who know the league! 

 

I'm sure there's plenty of creative accounting involved too. I wouldn't be surprised if we're now obliged to do Leeds and West Ham a favour either now, in Jan or if we're promoted!

I still think a move will materialise before Monday, there will be a couple of teams who panic and will look to add more creativity before window shuts. My money is on one of Spurs, Villa, Wolves, Leeds or Sunderland coming in with an offer that we deem acceptable.

It all depends how it plays out , 

If you wanted to move I don't blame him. It just depends how he behaves if that doesn't happen. If he Knuckles down and says right, I'm going to smash this and do my best and get in my move later then all is good with me. Thus far, I've always felt he was one of the better players for putting in effort. He just needs to continue, makes no sense for either party for him to be a mardy ass. He needs to play to get into international football as well.  I think the idea that he's on strike and going to sit in the stands at this point is just talk and rumour speculation. We will see...

They might do, but any deal would still depend on us having a replacement lined up. The closer it gets to the end of the window, the less likely it is to happen as other clubs will be less willing to do business.

The money that's changed hands for Hutchinson and Fernandes, neither of whom are significantly better than El-Khannouss, just cements the argument that we shouldn't accept a penny less than £35m. If nobody pays it, he doesn't leave. If a Saudi club offer it and he doesn't want to go there, that's on him.

I wonder if that blackout thing was his final kick out and he’s been told it isn’t going to happen now, so may as well strap in and enjoy the ride until at least January. I would be very surprised if any clubs see value at him at £30m + we will be asking for. Maybe a very desperate team but I think Palace have decided they won’t pay that.

People know we're desperate for the money. Plus, a lot of our best players don't want to stick around because of the mess. We aren't in such a strong bargaining position.

The fees for Kasey and JJ and soon to be VK would suggest otherwise imo. I don't see Bilal going at this point unless we're quietly replacing him and it's not been picked up yet.

Given that refusing to play for us would severely damage his prospects of appearing for Morocco in the AFCON and the World Cup, I'm inclined to believe that once the transfer window shuts he'll accept his fate and knuckle down. Far more likely he'll do that than deliberately damage his career by sulking in the stands.

I just don't see it. His numbers aren't that good and there weren't enough match winning performances to be interesting clubs, especially Villa and Spurs chasing top 6 finishes. Leeds and Sunderland have bought plenty in now and Wolves won't have a spare 30m without selling anyone and getting a deal done rapidly. I mean they're talking about Garnacho going to Chelsea for about 35m. If we get big money for him, great, but I'd be pretty surprised if he's moved by Monday now.

Reports suggest that we no longer need to sell anybody to meet PSR requirements and so we're not desperate for the money. This puts us in a much stronger bargaining position that we would be in if we hadn't generated any funds through other sales.
