I think it's a reach to say the youth isnt as good as the old guard, especially when referencing Monga against Reid.

Sorry that either a deliberate lie or you have not seen every game. Monga hasn`t been great in every game, he has been unremarkable in a least 1-2 games, but that is to be expected and is in no way a negative slant on him, as he is the future 100%.

 

But did you not see the value someone like Ayew gave to the game today (Only referring to today)? Or were you busy asking why he isn`t in the box?

Never said he wasn't good enough. Monga is probably the biggest Leicester talent since Heskey. 

But Mavididi is a decent and proven player at this level, so I can understand sharing the minutes and responsibility.

I thought we were fine until the sending off. Second half we changed shape, dug in and looked threatening on the break. We could have taken all 3 points. It is early days yet. Justin James looked decent. As for Marti saying who he likes, what is he supposed to do say players are shit and he does not want them? He has to motivate them and get them playing as a team. I was very sceptical about how we would be and I am surprised at how many points we have.

There are some impatient fvckers on here. Rome wasn't built in a day. So as mentioned, both Nelson and Page weren't selected as a precaution. Making too many changes to the team , after a great win against Birmingham, would have been strange. New arrivals haven't really had much time together working with their team mates. Monga is 16, been away on international duty and for me it was sensible not bringing him on.

I've every confidence that Marti will start to select our strongest XI, which will include Ricardo, Winks and James.

He was good against Huddersfield and Charlton which i assume are the two weaker games you are referencing. You dont need to be exceptional every game to be good.

 

In comparison to the average BCDR game which contains multiple misplaced touches and a lack of taking on the opposition on, every game Monga has played for us has been good.

Monga is a great talent, but he's not the saviour. It's obvious Cifuentes rates him and will give him plenty of minutes. It seems ridiculous to single out Cifuentes for this when Monga and Page are the only players under 18 getting ANY minutes in the entire division.

This guy has so many bad takes I'd be worried if he was backing Marti.

I didn’t think he actually played that badly today…… I think some fans at the moment are that desperate for us to fail, that any poor performance just gets met with a raging overreaction of “I told you so”…. I’ve got no grumbles so far, I just have one wish, to see James and Winks start from now.

Under the circumstances I think Marti is doing a fantastic job. A squad littered with overpaid players, some of whom do not want to be here. The biggest disconnect between the club and the fans for years. And somehow he has managed to get committed performances from this group. Plus his in game management is the best we’ve seen for at least the last three managers.

Personally I don’t have too much of an issue with selections.

 

The centre midfield is poor but until James has come in, options are limited with Winks being a want away during the window (supposedly).

 

Ayew is not a good striker. He has good qualities but I think he is much better deeper. But the only alternative has been Daka until deadline day.

 

Monga and Page are fine. Monga seems better affecting the game from the bench than starting. He is getting plenty of minutes apart from today. Page started the last couple so can’t do much more.

 

My only real issue is centre back and the exclusion of Nelson based on one poor first half against Huddersfield. Watching Okoli not challenge in the build up to their first goal today and Vestergaard doing Vesty things, well, if Nelson is so much worse than them, just flog him to any buyer in January because he has no future with us if that’s the case!

Marti has shown with his subs and change of system, in this and previous games, that he's an excellent tactician. Away from home, a man down, a goal down and with a one eyed ref, we still managed to get a point. Marti takes massive credit for that, and we need to trust him and his judgement.

No point blaming the manager for much today, maybe the usual Skipp and Soumare show but he needs to get the new players bedded in first.

 

He's been giving youth a chance, finally has some new faces and has been here for 5 mins. Anyone talking about getting rid probably wanted Russell Martin here anyway.
