Silko Thomas over Monga as a sub today was odd. Clearly lost some trust in him.

Not really, Monga gives no help to his full back, Mavididi was knackered and Luke Thomas was constantly 1 vs 1 and on a booking so it was a sensible substitution.

What concerns me most is he just isn't a front footed manager. We seem to want to soak up and counter. The style is shite.

Only times we've gone for it late on is when we're losing

Half a dozen times today Cifuentes is waving to break forwards and the players just seemed to ignore him. Is this him or the senior players again. Problem is he has few options until we completely drain the swamp. JJ is a breath of fresh air.

If what I've been told is true about Monga come the end of the season, I suspect we will use him sparingly.

Why would he be involved at all at 16(?) if he was off? Swear people said the same of Evans not being involved then he signed a contract and was still not involved, maybe he is just 16 as raw as ****

The saddest part is that's one of the main promises he gave to fans, he told us from day 1 that no matter what, even if we are winning comfortably, we would always be pushing hard for another goal.
The moment we scored today we slowed down from a walk to a crawl, and Marti was not indicating at all that it wasn't part of his plan.

Multiple things he has just outright lied about.

I don't think that true. He was constantly urging his players to move upfield and they were attacking rather than defensive subs.

The players were being pegged back by their own caution.

A sensible option would have been to have dropped to a back three.

Silko Thomas is shit, it was a rubbish substitution, along with his more ridiculous decision to persist with Soumare.

Silko is this seasons equivalent of Raikhy - absolutely nowhere near the level, baffling why he’s anywhere near the squad even with the slim pickings available.

If that were true, surely we'd try to get as much use out of him as possible.

He's clearly talented, but his decision making isn't great, but that's part of being young. It's also part of deciding where and when to play him.

Lack of confidence, only natural given how the season's gone.

17th game in charge today and I am yet to see any real tactics being implemented - or even trying to be implemented

No patterns of play or properly developed movement from any of the players

It genuinely just looks like he has looked at how we played the last 2 seasons and decided to just carry on with that because it is less work for him

Not one player has improved under him at all, if anything I actually think pretty much all of them have actually got even worse

Which with how crap some of these players already were is actually some achievement itself

Hopefully they don't drag out getting this new technical director in and we can then sack Martí and get a proper system in place (although I expect the technical director will just be some agency hire anyway)

This explains it so well.

Forget a game. Have we had any good sustain periods of football/pressure ? In any games ? Not sure we have.

We go into the Saints game after 2 wins in a row and I’m expecting to be absolutely turned over. Saints fans probably going into it with confidence after seeing a period of excellent football - something to build on.

Winning 2-1 today. But you can’t ignore. Multiple missed place passes. Stoke having plenty of chances before we scored. Slow, lethargic football after a goal that should’ve woken us all up. It was another messy, bitty and poor performance.

Where is the evidence that Silko Thomas is more defensively useful than Monga? Absolute garbage.

Well, I've obviously missed that then as every time I saw him he was standing there doing very little, maybe the odd instruction to an individual. I saw him urging players forward a few games ago and they were ignoring him, so it's entirely possible they are just not listening.
The issue is, he told us in one of his first interviews we would always go for another goal in an aggressive style, if we still aren't doing it coming up to December, either the players don't believe in him or he isn't communicating it well enough. It does seem to be a running theme with possession-based managers, though.

Have we played well in any games this season?

Swansea was okay, and the first half against Portsmouth. Other than that, I’ve not seen a decent performance.

2 wins in a row. He’s on course for manager of the month

Yea wouldn’t surprise me, but make no mistake it’s no achievement getting manager of the month in this ridiculously poor league! Still thinks he’s crap tbf

Cov at home was also largely decent. One of the few games where I've thought we were the better team on the day.
