Good managers make the team more than the sum of it's parts.

Marti doesn't do that.

A good coach improves players, not one has improved under him.

In a nutshell!

Looking at his career he’s more of an instant impact sort of manager and wanes year on year.

I do like like him, he comes across well but I fear he’s a mediocre manger and currently he’s making us worse than the sum of our parts. The main problems are above but that doesn’t mean he should be unsackable.

If we do get a deduction we are in relegation trouble and that should be unfathomable.

I can understand the reasons why others have reached the point of wanting a change, but I struggle to see past the fact that the players are once again the common denominator. This is our third manager in the space of a year, and until there is better leadership of the club and there are meaningful changes to the squad, managerial changes will be very surface level. I would also sooner keep Marti knowing that Russell Martin would be a likely candidate to take over.

With his being an ex player there then I think R.Martin might well be Norwich bound if Liam Manning ends up getting the push anytime before too long....

Yup. It never fails to amaze me how out of touch a lot of our fanbase are, when they turn their noses up at managers who wouldn't even give us a second glance, if we were deluded enough to approach them in the first place.

Unfortunately we are nothing these days.

We were deluded enough, he very quickly came back and said he had no interest.

For me this was always a transitional season, take our spanking from the EFL, get rid of the dead wood and  the unwanted players and try and give game time to some of the youngsters, then go for promotion next season.

So although I’m not overly impressed with the manager or his “brand of football”, I see him hopefully as just a stop gap until Nigel is healthy enough to make a return.

None of the promised attacking football. None of the promised youth. Soumare in the line up. One up top repeatedly inspite of our strikers not being capable of playing that way.

The issues are mounting up.

Players not good enough. All the decent players have gone. The players left are poor even for this league. The manager is letting

the already poor players under achieve.

The players are just going through the motions and seeing out their inflated contracts. No passion, no commitment.

We need a clean slate.

He's getting sacked right after the match if we don't win today.

Lose tonight and certainly Norwich must have their first home win on Saturday, sacked by 7pm !!!

I think don’t win tonight and he will be gone, self preservation will kick in. Kingy will take it on for the Norwich game with the hope of getting some sort of positive reaction and result ahead of the international break where the club will then look to recruit and appoint a new manager.

He comes across well in what he says, but uninspiring. I couldn't imagine him being much of a motivator, especially not for this already clearly very unmotivated group.

Can't see us sacking him just yet and the way I see it there is little evidence to suggest we would.

We got rid of Cooper fairly sharpish but have more generally been loyal to a fault. IIRC, we've also got form for sacking after international breaks rather than before when it would make more sense..

I agree however I think there are very few managers that would fire up this squad. 7 of the players that featured on Saturday have their deals expiring in June.

I don't think Maresca was inspirational he just had conviction in his coaching and was good at conveying it - if Cifuentes was a better coach in footballing terms the rest would follow.

Sacked tomorrow.

Caretaker for Norwich and take 3 points hopefully.

International break to appoint the new manager

Not the Leicester way.
Lose tonight and Saturday.
Waste 2 weeks of the international break and then decide to sack him a day before our next game.

He was an uninspiring choice there was no new manager bounce unlike what we got with enzo last time in championship the games we have won were more by luck and against two teams in league 1 last season he talks a good game but unfortunately his tactics don’t maybe we need a bit of blood and thunder football instead of turgid crab 🦀 slow paced not going anywhere football with no goals and enjoyment he needs to go 🤷‍♂️

Cooper was given 15 games in all competitions. Tomorrow is the 15th league game of the season. So going by that time frame, Cifuentes will be moved on if it’s a defeat tomorrow. It’s always difficult to know the club’s thinking though especially these days.
