Agree, even when Wilf left we still had the industry of KDH to set the tone, but now we are football by numbers with occasional highlights.

Personnel is an issue but Marti has to cope, and if what @BKLFox suggests above is tried, would hope we can be more secure and open the door a little wider for youth.

Marti Cifuentes hints at Leicester City selection rethink after explaining four changes (Mercury) hopefully he stands by this & has realised his mistakes.

I didn't mind the 3 at the back either & thinking maybe we could deploy but with different personel, we need that additional player in the centre of the pitch or next to the striker so my thinking would be to have

This allows us Ricardo to slip into RB when/if required pushing Aluko to LB
                   Jacub
      Okoli, Nelson, Aluko
   Ricardo, Winks, James
Fatawu, Ramsey, Monga/Mavi
               Sparewheel

This gets at least 2 bodies in the box ontop of runners
                  Jacub
      Okoli, Nelson, Aluko
          Winks, James
Fatawu, Ramsey, Monga/Mavi
               Evans/ Sparewheel

Both set ups get rid of the issues we have at the back, Nelson good enough to step in in place of Vestergaard & the other 2 have the aggression & speed of Faes but also add more control.
I wanted to put Evans in upfront but just can't see all 3 sparewheels being dropped but would have him on the bench along with Page & S Thomas in place of *sparewheel.

I think this set up or atleast the names will get fans back on side & give him a platform to build on.
I don't think sacking him now will do us any favours because any manager will look at senior players 1st anyway so another 8-10 games in whilst they 'assess'
After lastnight i think Marti is seeing the seniors who he can trust & those he needs to bin but lets see Saturday.

edit: added Evans to 2 up top sod it

A sparewheel is useful and serves a purpose, unfortunately ours don't and are already below the legal tread depth😭

Regardless of the manager it is going to take till the next summer to sort this squad.

Here should be our priorities as of January if possible and if we are to continue with Marti:

Faes needs to go in for Ben Nelson to get a place

Victor K off he ****s for Aluko to have a place

Soumare as above, for Page

Daka, Ayew, Bobby Reid off they go for Jake Evans and hopefully two more signings.

Then ideally we cut Marti some slack as he’ll be working with kids essentially and we’d probably have to sell Fatawu come summer to actually get a decent striker.

What I’m saying is. Not a chance this season of automatics, and sadly he’ll have pressure to play the experienced pros in hoping we can generate interest and a fee.

Good managers make the team more than the sum of it's parts.

Marti doesn't do that.

A good coach improves players, not one has improved under him.

Everyone keeps saying how shit the players are, which is true, but it's not like Millwall, Hull, and Portsmouth are overflowing with elite talent

He absolutely should be able to get something out of the players available but we are getting worse and worse the longer he is here

Have to agree.  Another manager that thinks his style is better than creating a style to suit this team.

And we’re about to enter a run of six games that look even better than our first seven.

These next six games will tell us a lot about Cifuentes, and hopefully we start to see performances where we play well for a full 90.

1 win, 2 draws, 2 losses since I said this with just Blackburn left, not good enough!

At least 7 points from our next 3 games needs to be the aim, if we can’t manage to beat Blackburn and Norwich, then surely it might have to be goodbye in the next international break.

They didn't even talk to Dyche.

He has just got a Premier League job with European football. He hasn't managed in this division for a decade. It wasn't happening.

Yup. It never fails to amaze me how out of touch a lot of our fanbase are, when they turn their noses up at managers who wouldn't even give us a second glance, if we were deluded enough to approach them in the first place.

Unfortunately we are nothing these days.
