The saddest part is that's one of the main promises he gave to fans, he told us from day 1 that no matter what, even if we are winning comfortably, we would always be pushing hard for another goal.
The moment we scored today we slowed down from a walk to a crawl, and Marti was not indicating at all that it wasn't part of his plan.

Multiple things he has just outright lied about.

I've genuinely pushed harder for a poo after a Narborough Road kebab

Silko Thomas over Monga as a sub today was odd. Clearly lost some trust in him.

Depends which way you look at it.

No denying Monga is a hot prospect,  and can be exciting to watch....

But hes almost been completely ineffective when playing or late.

Can't be guaranteed a game "because Barcelona wanted him"

I'm not here in defence of marti at all, in all honesty, I don't get too hung up on what he had done previously, what his style was like elsewhere etc..... BUT.....

Maybe his instinct IS to want to play attacking football.  We HAVE seen that it games where we are behind and chasing games.

It just seems to me, that we have a squad that isn't pre disposed to that style of football.

We have zero pace at the back. So we can't really play a high line. Without a high line, it's hard to be on the front foot as the gaps between defence and attack are too big.  If we press aggressively, teams will play through us.

We also don't really have the midfield personell for the style.  None of winks, skipp or soumare are dynamic enough.

JJ looks a good addition and would fit that style.

And then the attacking force.  Mav, Fatawu and Daka potentially fit that gung ho style well.  But Ayew doesn't, Carranza doesn't.

It COULD be that he's a really crap manager.  It Could be that he is a pragmatist that's trying to fit a way of playing to the available squad.

We all know we need an overhaul. Importantly though, we need to "pick a club style" for our system, so we can hire managers and buy players that continue to fit that system.

Our pick and mix approach has left us entirely dysfunctional.

Maybe a transfer window or two sees some change in playing style. But that doesn't come without risk if he is actually, just a crap manager!

This is true. We got absolutely rinsed at and around Preston away for playing so high earlier in the season. He’s probably had to adapt that.

He plays with a handbrake on, our best player is JJ yet he plays him out of position.

Nelson was getting minutes (also the armband) in pre-season yet didn’t have a sniff until he was desperate, with him looking our best CB before his injury.

He’s not been helped but Rudkin/Top but so many frustrating decisions have been made by Marti himself.

Cov at home was also largely decent. One of the few games where I've thought we were the better team on the day.

We were crap, should have Burried them that day

Yea wouldn’t surprise me, but make no mistake it’s no achievement getting manager of the month in this ridiculously poor league! Still thinks he’s crap tbf

i wouldn’t say he’s crap, but he’s nothing special. I mean, he’s not been financially backed  and neither of the previous two managers were really to any great extent.. it’s natural after several windows of minimal transfer spending that the quality of the squad declines. It’s not really a fair comparison to compare him to managers who have been financially backed.

The fact we should have buried them suggests we played pretty well against a team who are the runaway leaders. We just failed to finish our chances and their keeper played really well. The only time this season when we've really worked a keeper very often.

He has inherited a pretty lacklustre team that has barely been improved in three seasons. He made statements about playing a style that he is not able to back up due to either his lack of ability or lack of quality players. I see lots of people here say that he has a top squad that should be challenging for an automatic but I disagree.

Could get worse yet. Marti gets binned (which he should) but Russell Martin is still unemployed and we all know how good Top and Rudkin are at picking gems of Managers.

No point in sacking him. It's years of poor management. Awful recruitment and an arrogant approach to growth.

You could have prime fergie in charge and he couldn't do much with this shit. Just enjoy the odd victory here and there is my view. We are on the slide big time.

I recall when 'Barcelona wants Leicester wonderkid Hamza Choudhury'

Some here know we're going to spend a decade in the lower leagues.

We're the next casualties... just like Blackburn, Forest, Leeds and Sunderland 😔

Pleased for the manager today.

Saved his skin by growing a pair, dropping poison players and setting us up on the front foot. More, please. 👍

Not intending to get too carried away, but hopefully today’s result will be a turning point for the season. The manager chose the right personnel and it paid off, when it could have very much gone the other way for him today.
