Ricardo's one was his agent saying that he is open to/looking for a new challenge. Usual spiel.

Probably confirms without promotion he won’t be looking at contract extension.

I heard Gerinder embarrassing us again on talk sport this morning, apparently she’s getting her coaching badges for real with aspirations of becoming a manager! I can’t even put it by our board that’s the reality.

Tbf, I can genuinely believe we'd have gone for Cifuentes even if they were both available.

His style of play is more consistent with Top's vision for the club, regardless of the fans preferences.

Disagree. We were in for Rohl before Cifuentes was even mentioned. Only when the compensation terms changed we stepped back.

He has no clue about the nuances between Rohl and Cifuentes styles, let's be honest

Yeah I was gonna say, I feel like you've given Top and/or Rudkin way too much credit there @Finnegan haha.

Genuinely rather Cifuentes than Rohl based on his track record with developing young players, in particular bringing through academy players. Rohl's got no track record of this and I've had a gutful of giving managers the benefit of the doubt that they'll do it. Marti appears he does at every club he's been at.

I don’t too much about Marti. What is his record with youth players - he talks a very good game and I’m very much warming him to him but keen to fill in my own gaps.

The initial positivity of Cifuentes appointment has dwindled with the lack of any activity in moving players on. We need to strengthen  in key areas upfront, centre mid and defence but our bigger problem is the toxic and stale atmosphere created by the players, whom we reference often, that want to leave but can’t because they’re not prepared to take pay cuts and other clubs don’t want them.

Don't be fooled by the overtly positive LCFC social media posts atm. Cifuentes has very big job on his hands and his hands are tied. Good luck Marti, you’ll need it!

Happy ish with Marti, would have been happier with Rohl and his team but I would imagine he has probably either turned us down or didn’t seem overly enthused so we went elsewhere. To be quite frank though, it really doesn’t matter, while the same structure and personnel are in place the club is going one way and that’s downwards.

At QPR he's brought through Rayan Kolli and Sinclair Armstrong and plus signed the likes of Kieran Morgan from Spurs academy and used him from the off.

At Hammarby he brought through Erabi, Gül, Karlsson, Madjed, worked with Williot Swedberg and Toure and plenty others.

Will look at the clubs prior to that as well.

And the real positive for us is that I imagine he will be working with young players, with a much higher ceiling than most he has worked with in the past.

Well Sinclair Armstrong at least who I am yet to be convinced is actually a footballer...

I think that played a large part in the decision making, we have invested heavily in a world class facilities, we need to start seeing the fruit of our labour.

We probably have one of the best group of academy player we have ever produced at one time, now is the time to make it pay off.

It the best way of becoming sustainable.

Assuming he’s not an unmitigated disaster (see Ruud for example) I’d quite like him to be here for a few years. Bit of stability could be good for us.
