Could be that the manager has only just arrived and is yet to asses the squad

It certainly looks like he’s tried to give every player a fair chance so far doesn’t it.

I’d expect to see some more movement this week, now they’re back and with the season drawing ever closer.

I’m sure the club would quite like a new face in (one a little more exciting than Begovic) ahead of this weekends game to help sell some tickets.

Our big earners won't go anywhere because they're on the biggest contract they'll likely get.

The most saleable assets are Mads and BEK. The whole world and his dog know we are desperate for cash and there's every chance we'll accept bargain bin prices in the final days of the window.

To make good money, we need to sell academy products but the exciting youth coming through haven't really showcased their talents yet, which realistically leaves Casey, Hamza and Luke Thomas.  They will be important for us this season and we'd be reluctant to sell.  Didn't Sunderland offer £10m for one of them in January and we turned it down?  If anyone comes in with £10m for any of those players we surely should sell and probably just bank the money.

I don’t think we will bring anyone in that isn’t a panic, we will end up selling Mads and Bilal. Which won’t really help us financially as they’re not on big wages, and it will weaken us dramatically, and we will still have all of the over paid shite hanging around the club again for yet another season.

You can only sponsor yourself at a fair market value so they can’t artificially pump cash in

Thanks. If we can't get anyone then FMV it may have to be!

It's all good, we have a 16 year old that's going to win us the league.

We don't need to sign anyone!

Be 17 next year when we win the prem again

We had an offer for Coady - how on earth have we not taken that?

Probably involves us paying 90% of his wages so it makes sense to not accept it.

Meanwhile at Southampton...

They’ve raised £31m from that squad, how lol

Although we would have raised £70/80m from ours had the wages not been so pathetically astronomical.

it might be that I'm not paying much attention to anyone else, but is there much movement going on everywhere else in the market compared to previous years?

This was posted this morning regarding premier league transfers, quite a few in & out for various clubs

Ive only just caught up with the Herald piece which quotes the Mercury (I missed that too) as saying that we'll only let Coady go if  we can find an experienced replacement..WTF !!

We already have Faes, Okoli, Nelson and Vestergaard with Aluko looking promising ffs..it really beggars belief

We just never learn. Monaco wanted Soumare, we didn't sell, likewise for Thomas and McAteer.  We could've got rid of that giant turd, Vesty, but instead offered him another mega contract. I'm more interested in who's going, rather than who's coming.

It was entirely predictable. Plenty towards the end of last season seemed to think we would get a big overhaul in the summer. It didn't happen in 2023 to the level it should've done so it was never going to happen this time around.

There's no incentive for players to leave here. No serious demands on performance yet as good a wage as you can get outside of Saudi Arabia.

Add in a director of football who is demonstrably utterly useless at moving players on. The absolute worst in the business.

Sell before we buy, but we can never actually sell.

Cifuentes will start well here because the majority of managers do, there's a bit of a point to prove. We have a relatively kind opening few fixtures.

He will cotton on to what he's working under and lose interest / desire. He's got previous for it and that was under less inept people than ours. Bookmark it.

Listened to a pod on the athletic earlier on data. Bloke from the Liverpool scouting team said they reviewed targets every month of the year and had January’s targets established by 1st Sept and summers targets by 1st Feb.

Parish from Palace was on the rest is football recently and he said they work a year in advance based on current players ages, contract situation and injury record.

Everything with us is reactive and with no strategy.

You get what you deserve in the end. We will only continue to slide. Clubs like Norwich, West Brom etc... will be the next to pass us (or we fall past them, whichever applies). There's this institutional delusion at Leicester that it will just magically get better. The penny may drop after it's far too late.

It isn't just us. We are very similar to Manchester United - they won't get good any time soon either. Other clubs have gotten smarter and we still have 'Jon Rudkin' as our main football person. You get what you deserve.

£31mil raised from the second worst team in Premier League history. But it's impossible to sell a single one of our players apparently.

Absolutely sick to death of Rudkin.

Yup. He's created this mess due to him being that inept again and again. We have a bloated squad that is overpaid for their ability. There are so many red flags with Rudkin, yet he carries on. We've got relegated twice, yet our DoF who over saw both is still in a job.

It's just ridiculous
