Literally stunned by this. Signing him on a free would be a rip off, he's absolutely useless. Can't tackle, poor aerially, bad positionally, poor on the ball, had a few decent months at wing back in a 352 system before his injury turned him into a league two player. Cannot believe we getting 10m and he will be in the prem, the world's gone mad.

Doesn't make up for Iversen, Tielemans, Iheanacho, Praet, Söyüncü, Amartey and Perez all leaving on frees in recent seasons. Or the subpar fees received for Barnes, Maddison or even Ndidi and Hermansen. 

That's without touching on the abysmal signings we've made the last few seasons as well.

Will always have respect for JJ, at his best he was a Premier League quality full-back, a real shame that injuries affected him and he couldn’t find his best form again.

Yea, and that's 7 millions a few seasons ago from a lower league club. He's been part of a top 5 PL team, played in Europe, been on the fringes of the England squad and we can recoup marginally more than we paid.
I won't say no to 8 million in our situation, but I wonder what his value was 2-3 years ago.

Sad to see JJ go, always came across well in interviews, if he never does his ACL we probably sell him to Man City for £40 million, he was that good pre injury but people have short term memories
