Cant hate on McAteer being a hard working local lad but if you were an Ipswich fan replacing Hutchinson with McAteer would feel a bit underwhelming

I'd have had no issues with keeping him, not the best but committed and gives his all. Loves the club by all accounts. 

 

But from what we have seen of him that's the type of money you can't turn down.

when he scored the 2nd at Southampton in Sept 2023 I thought we might have a very decent player, as he took a quick pass on the run in the box with great control and slotted it in....think I posted how good a technique I thought it was......sadly I was wrong never rose to those heights again, but good luck to him, as least he'd put a shift in
