Soumare and Skipp got through a lot of graft in the middle, we do need that link-up man in the middle, Page hopefully will improve game-on-game.

Great win. 

Not the most attractive or entertaining game of football but our defensive shape, fight and resilience seems to be improving so Marti deserves a lot of credit for that. 

 

Maybe we were all worrying unnecessarily but we could do with a few new signings before deadline day. 

 

As for Birmingham, Chris Davies clearly uses the Brendan Rodgers textbook of all fart and no shit.

 

Could have played until tomorrow night and they wouldn't score. Regardless of Stansfield being out (who I personally think is massively overrated) they are lacking any quality in the final 3rd

Marti has steadily built up the spirit of the squad and sure, it wasn’t pretty but you always felt we had lads out there who were TRYING. 

 

Soumare was bloody great. I’ll take him being that player going forwards!

We were physically stronger, which was a complete surprise. Marti has them working and not sulking which is good work. And flashes of quality. Ayew looked better as a 10 than up top. This could be an ok season.
