There's rarely clauses to outright cancel a loan part way through.  This isn't something exclusive to us.  Generally there'll be clauses that come with fees to be paid.

 

It's not as easy as the loan club to cancel as it is for a parent club to recall.

There was a moment in the first half vs Blackburn where he was simultaneously slower than their centre-backs and caught offside at the same time (i.e. his starting position was wrong and they caught up to him when the flag was raised). 

 

I think that just about sums his time up here for me in the little we've seen - off the pace.

He had a great chance to shoot at Swansea, but messed it up. Not saying he would have gone on to greatness from there, but that could  have been a moment to build on.

I do think that he might be our worst ever striker. Certainly in my time and i've seen some absolute stinkers.

 

He's got no redeeming traits or abilities.

The guy has had no real run in the team no run of games no ressies football to find his groove i love the fact the ressies is now u21s but it does hinder teams when their bench players get zero minutes for months on end then get dropped into first team action

There''s also an opportunity cost in not cancelling it. Wages, clogging up the squad, having a player who doesn't want to be here around the squad etc.

 

I can forgive that loans might not be ideally structured but we're better off saying no rather than being lumbered with an Edouard again - we have agency, we can negotiate. I can;t forgive the same mistakes being made again and again just because that's the way things are - when seemingly other clubs don't fall afoul.

I think the main thing that hinders him, is being absolutely dog shit.

Did we not send people to watch him play before signing him or maybe even watch a viddy.   I really don't understand how the system works !!

We went into the window  knowing that we didn't have a striker fit for purpose.  The levels of incompetence required to address that by managing to find a striker even worse than what we had just beggars belief.  

 

Who sends a team into a season without a striker.  Absolute clowns!

Daka scored 7 and assisted 5 in just short of 1100 minutes (20 games) last time round in the Championship.  They're very good stats.  Perhaps they naively thought he would replicate that again at the level.
