LCFC v Cov - Post Match Thread

Winks and Soumare with James I thought looked very good, Fatawu ruined his full back everytime, Monga looked class coming on, Vestergaard and Faes comfortable. Cov came out fast, but from 20 mins onwards dropped off completely, if that Cov fan on here thinks Rudoni, Grimes and Torp are the best the division has to offer then christ, we played through them easily.

I thought we actually looked a lot more fluid in spells? Draw probably flatters them more than us. Some nice attacking movement. Still work to be done, but felt for the first time like we were more in control of a game and less on the back foot - and that's that first decent team we've played too.

 

Still a lot of work to do for Cifuentes, but I think if you swap out Mav for Monga and Soumare for Ramsey, that's a good side.

If a couple of those chances that went straight at their keeper were a yard either side, you'd all be creaming yourselves over that result. We played well for large periods of that game and were clearly the better side

Would help if Thomas knew what each signal meant. There was the one right at the end the coach put two arms up.

Soumare and Mavididi are absolutely useless at the minute. Mav is probably down to lack a lack of form and confidence. Soumare is just a negative, technically inept player. Ayew atleast tries, but his age is showing. The team we finished with is about the most dangerous we can be. Very disappointing result.

Thought it was generally ok.

 

Ayew did well generally, but he doesn't offer any goal threat at all as a number 9. 

 

Lots of sloppy passing in decent positions.

 

Even at their best for 25years, they still can't beat us.

Should have won 2/3-0, the mavididi miss was an absolute crime! 

 

Something is missing, as if it clicks we'll start to hammer teams but we just aren't clinical enough. 

 

Ayew is not the answer as the 9.

Thought we were the better side by some distance. We just dont have a striker, Ayew for all his hardworking just isn't a striker and is killing us going forward.

Our season in terms of promotion will lean on carranza being something I think.

The pros for me is we are well organised and solid, which is a big step considering a year of chaos with largely the same bunch.

Mav loves to take a touch, always takes too many touches, but put him clean through on goal with time to take a touch and he falls over backwards trying to snatch at it…

James looks decent and Carranzaz movement was positive at least

 

Jannik and Winks need to stop pissing about and get it forward quicker. Ayews a 10 not a 9 and Monga has to start. Hopefully get riccys fitness up to at least 80mins, lose a positive threat when he goes off.

 

Solid enough at the back but slow, lethargic and gutless in attack

I’m ok with that performance. 
 

Harry Winks is the best midfielder in this league. I do like Rudoni for them though. 
 

We created the best chances (and the best chance) - at the end of it, disappointed not to win it. 
 

I think Cov will be up there this season and one of our tougher games. Will be interesting to see this side that started develop. 
 

Do need a striker though.
