Thanks Mitch for your 13 years commitment to the club!  Top class fitness coaches are worth their weight in gold, so I am sure he will be missed.

Working for a football club in any 'matchday' capacity is only ever going to work if you have a very understanding family or don't mind missing out on things. Perhaps the new role gives him flexibility/more time at home. Also it's a title promotion regardless of whether the pay is better.

 

Personally surprised he's never really moved up with us, well liked, never been removed by new managers.

If you're in strength training then powerlifting is more likely to be of interest too. Football might have just paid the bills and this is probably the domain he really wants to work in

I honestly think his step up from the under 18's at end of the 2014/15 season was key to our premier league winning season the following year

 

Just watch GB win 8 Weight Lifting Golds in the 2028 Olympics

 

But at least we still have Matt Reeves & Peter Habershon
