We only really look decent when the opposition sit off and give us too much respect, even then, we aren't actually creating much, we just have possession on the edge of their final third.  The only time we look genuinely dangerous is when our backs are against the wall and the players are in attack mode.

 

The style of play is fairly easy to combat and there's very little for the opposition to think about. We give them plenty of time to get into shape and then all they do is clog up with width of the box then wait for us to make a mistake or pass it out wide and hope a winger can either smash one in or pick out the 2 or 3 people in the box who are against 4 or 5 defenders.

 

When we're chasing a goal, the ball goes forwards much quicker and we put men into the box.

 

We need to remove that fear of not having possession. Man for man we're better than a lot of these teams, but we neuter ourselves by playing into the oppositions hands. Most are more than happy to sit in and hit us on the counter.

 

Without wanting to sound like a dinosaur, a lot of possession obsessed teams really complicate and stifle what is a simple game. 

 

That's not to say that everytime you get the ball it needs to be treated like a hot potato and launched. But equally, every time you get the ball your thought should be how quickly can we get up bodies up the field and attack. Our seems to be, let's pass it around until everyone is in their pre-defined position and then play laborious passing sequences while the other team get everyone back.

After a ropey start this lot have improved to the point where I don't think we're favourites at all.

 

Won 4 of their last 5 and came back from 2 nil down to draw the other.

 

Yes they concede a lot of goals but we don't create anything so I wouldn't read much into that.

Then an absolutely doggo performance and loss at Millwall.

We need to win today not just for the sake of three points but for the sake of we need to put in a confident win over hull and start to get the ball rolling down the hill as once we start winning and firing on all fronts we should be the best team in the championship as so far we are playing awfully but yet were still in fourth so think of it in that sense.

 

2-1 Leicester as well

Expecting a draw, but wouldn't be shocked if hull won or if we did another Man U and won with a worldie.

 

Ricardo I assume doesn't start and James looks a bit fatigued from international duty. Teams must be looking at us a realising how we can be got at.

 

The fact that regardless of opposition, every game feels like a 50/50 isn't great.

Same CB’s we’ve had for years, stale as a piece of bread, tired, lethargic and just going through the motions just like our owner and club.

Just because a defender plays in a better team does not make them better, Coady played 3000 minutes for us and couldnt last 5 games at Wrexham.

Where would you rank John Egan and Charlie Hughes compared to our 4 CBs?
