Is he likely to make the Australia squad for the World Cup? Might be his chance to prove fitness and save himself from playing L1 football. Might also increase his transfer value.

Imagine he's more likely to be one of the ones we loan to the Championship with a small fee covering salary. Can't see anyone taking a permanent risk on him, not to mention the fee we probably need.

See you in August 2027 Souttar

There are new restrictions on how much of the equity injection from an owner is allowed to be included in the calculation. So even the maths isn’t as favourable as a couple of seasons ago in League One.

That’s before you even ask the question if Top/KP has the ability and intention to inject any cash.

It’s 60% of the injected cash can be used on player wages.

But that’s £60% of whatever figure is injected into a club. For example injecting £200m (just a number so let’s not all be angry) then the 60% of that figure is still greater than the 60% of let’s say £100m…..

The idea is you don’t normally get billionaires owning league 1 clubs, or if you do they don’t routinely inject cash into the club.

So it all comes down if Top is capable of putting any money in, and if he does want to put any money in.

He’s going to be the one that got away, no chance we keep him for league one

I agree with the second part, but the one that got away. 😂 he’s been here for 4 years and been nothing short of a disaster signing.

Make the bloke captain and build the side around him and some of the other young lads.

He put in a very impressive performance for someone who has been out for 450 days.

I don't think Top has got any money to throw at the club.  The King Power brand has to be sustained first before money can be spent on play things. And KP don't appear to be especially flush right now.

Didn't the commentator mention last night that we received £100m in TV money last season.  Next season it will be £2m.  Last season our wage bill was £150m, League One average wage bill is £9m.

The finances are dire.  Any saleable asset will be gone and Souttar will be close to top of the list.

Needs to sell just to a billionaire, Top and king power has too much money to lose now.

Yesterdays performance was the sort of performance where you actively try to move finances around to keep him where possible, but the figures i'm seeing for his wages coupled with his injury record scream bad financial decision and get rid ASAP.
It's sad as he's had a rough time here and hasn't really done much wrong when he's played, yesterday showed he can be well above league 1 level and if he can stay fit, is 1 less player to worry about.

Huge risk potentially though.

Average in League one is affected by sides with 5k stadiums like Bromley and Mansfield, we do not need to be at the average to be able to run. Think a lot of assets leave but I think we will be able to keep 3/4 senior players and make a few signings and survive, the issue will only come if we don’t straight back up

I think that we got decent fees for all of those players. Not to mention the £12m for McAteer!

But never replaced any of them….

Fantastic performance from him last night. Hopefully he continues to stay fit and he plays well against Blackburn. It would be great to see him here next season but I doubt it. If any decent offer comes in for anybody then it would be hard to turn it down.

Hey everyone long time since been on here , from Perth , on the Harry situation he will be in the mix now for the Aussie squad for the world cup he brings another dimension to our backline , but whether he gets picked is a different beast as for once our socceroos are actually stable at the back for once.

He was superb on his return to the team, however given the grave financial circumstances we can ill afford to make emotional or ill judged decisions. Truth is he has a dubious injury record and can we afford to take a chance on a player who could break down at any stage.

Personally i think if there is even a remote chance we can sell, get his wages off the books and cover what’s left on his book value then i am afraid that is what we have to do.

You’re right. Whilst I’m sure if he stayed fit, he’d dominate L1, he could easily get crocked again 2 games in and we are paying his wages for him not to play again.

I reckon we’ll end up having to start from scratch at centre back anyway. They will all be looking for moves away and I could see us just being left with Wilson-Brown and Gray. So we will need to try and find a senior defender from somewhere….

It would be lovely to keep him as he can dominate at the back and of course has several international goals to his credit. Realistically I wouldn’t be surprised if Sheffield United come in for him. Their form waned once he got injured during the recent loan

Administration is closer than we think which means League 2 can't be rules out
