I am hesitant to jump on the bandwagon here. I still think he’s a good player but this system is obviously working against his pros and cons as a player.  I do think if Martin is here we simply need to get kanga in with ohora but we all know Martin is on borrowed time and souttar will hopefully get a better chance when we do

Is he though? Not after watching him every week constantly gets spun when tight by forwards and fouls. Not exactly a powerhouse heading given his height.

 

He is like a worse version of JV in a shitter division

Another player signed to play in the Premier League who looks out of place in League 1. Easy to critise the system and football Martin wants to play (i hate it) but he cant even do the basics.

The only pro he has is winning aerial duels because he is so tall. That third Stockport goal, we were defending pretty deep and he does very poorly for a cross into the box. He's a poor player and one that it's baffling to think commanded such a big fee.

Our system makes every defender look bad though. I get that he hasn’t done himself any favours. But he’s clearly played well for other teams. One that doesn’t invite pressure time and time again. 
 

I just think that it’s the defensive equivalent of when a keeper is getting 20 shots on them. They are going to let some In and probably some they shouldn’t. Because they are in a situation where it’s constant bombardment. 
 

we can hound out souttar it still won’t get better when we play this open.   All defenders will make mistakes if you are putting them under that much pressure and then lumping the fact they need to be over playing as well… it’s just terrible 

 

the best defence is one that doesn’t have to do much. It might sound daft but an organised shape means a defender needs to make the big moments a handful of times in a game not every few minutes

Give Kangasniemi a go. It’s crying out for a cb who can play on the ball a bit. Souttar is so unsuited to this style of play.

Him and Thomas are probably the  worst CB duo I;ve seen in a while. No intuition, no anticipation, no sixth sense…replace. I’m ashamed to say this…, but, bring back Faes.

 on Harry the way he is playing is bizarre for me and being an Aussie I try to defend him a lot more then I should  , but the way he is playing he is either trying to bring his value down so he sold cheaper in Jan because his value is definitely not going up, the way he is playing our A league may be his only option

We don't need Faes ffs just play O'Hora and Ila. It's not difficult.
