As embarrassing as this looks, the Susan Whelan departure doesn't look to have been planned, and the club didn't have any succession planning in place, so maybe there is a proper recruitment process going on. In the meantime, Top put someone he trusted in to oversee things, and report back, but without making any big changes, and didn't feel the need to make an announcement.

Now, as part of the admission that communication has been poor, he has reaslised this interim appointment should have been announced, so has corrected that error.

May be blue tinted glasses thinking this and expecting an appointment of an actual CEO shortly, but it is possible we are all a bit too quick to criticise without understanding the bigger picture.

Bold of you to assume there would have been even if she did give them plenty of notice

For the purposes of the chant that we will need to sing in 6/12 months. I’m going to call her Sarah.

Welcome Sarah.

Anglicized name I believe is Monica.

Which role in her CV suggests she has any experience that would bring spending under control in a professional football club??

Yup.

And she was dependent on those around her to trust that assets we spend big fees and salaries on, where either worth it or would yield long term profit.

So this person has absolutely no experience running a business, let alone a football club?

Even as an interim this appointment seems absolutely wild. There must be people inside the club absolutely doing their nut over this.

Kind of reminds me of when we all thought we were appointing Preki as manager, except this time we've actually done it.

The football media aren't bothered either. Must know won't to rattle any cages at Leicester at all - has to be th only way Anthony earns his corn because he doesn't do any communicating with the fanbase.

This should be a pretty big story!

No idea what you people are getting so upset about.  Someone who is available and clearly rated within King Power helping out for a while.  Some fresh eyes and an intelligent manager is probably pretty useful at this point.

The fact is we need people who know about events and hospitality in the very least. It’s just adding financial burden for no tangible benefits. If she is going to cut some of the dead wood then OK but I cannot see it happening. Is she going to improve finances unlikely. Not going to do much with the playing side so what exactly is she going to be doing. Remember we have six senior staff already filling management roles why another one. It a;pears to me just another expense layer.

Even if all she does is relay issues from those 6 people to Top then she is useful.

If Rudkin has been sat on FT under the alias jon the hat and nobody’s noticed, the whole forum needs closing down

Having worked for a multi billion pound business that went “intod a project” bringing P&L leaders into the business with no prior experience as they have the right profile to “change culture” to go from good to great.

I think it was 18 months before they admitted to themselves it had gone from good to bad, staff turnover was through the roof, morale on the floor, standards dropping etc

Some skills are transferable between jobs. The fundamentals of sales or operations for example, are similar. Every sector has its intricacies, imbedded cultures and relationships. You can’t change how your “customer base” perceives you.

It took a change at the top and for people to be re-instated into roles they’d been removed from to get the business back into a profitable position. It felt for a long time like they didn’t want to admit they were wrong and for the business to lose millions before they realised what

I see so many similarities when I look at how King Power are treating Leicester City Football Club.

I’m not even sure Top or King Power have even realised this yet.

Football ultimately needs football people, being run by “Retailers” won’t work, unless you strike lighting in the bottle and land on someone who is truly brilliant.

I am a senior exec of a business which is many times larger and more complex than Leicester City Football club, and deal with CEOs and the like on a daily basis, so I suspect I have some more insight into senior management that most on here who are getting irate about this appointment.

Does she have the CV of the CEOs you deal with on a daily basis ?

Well since her announcement we’ve signed no dodgy deals, haven’t lost a game, given out no ridiculous new contracts, had no PSR breaches and comms from the club has increased.

And people still complain!
