Everyone knew (except for our players, it seems) that Robbins would have them fired up for the start of the second half. We have to be ready for the inevitable. That couldve cost us today.

Scrappy win I suppose. But quite how a winning side at home can't get a single corner and concedes 10 is beyond me.

For a posh boy Skipp is not bad...

 

....he went to the private Duncombe Primary School in Bengeo at roughly the same time as my own son Alex. The fees nearly bankrupted me.

 

Like Alex - Oliver then went to a comprehensive Secondary (his parents were probably suffering the same financial pain as me!)

 

Skipp played for the same Bengeo Tigers teams as my son - he was clearly very good at even a young age. My son who is now a P.E teacher was OK but much better at golf. When he was 10 my son was dropped from Bengeo Tigers for thumping a lad who had won MOTM which Alex disagreed with! Oliver was much better behaved - I have often told Alex - look where you could be with a bit more restraint.

 

At least in his role as a P.E teacher in North London Alex got to teach Steffi Mavadidi's nephew (it is a small world!)

It was a shame Daka was getting nothing from the fouls but they were all with his back to the defence.  Why can’t we try and get him running in constantly over this wasted hold up play.  It doesn’t work as a tactic with this style of football and players. 
 

Daka needed support with players running into space but for some reason this simple tactic doesn’t cross their minds.

With a bit of luck, and if our players could actually start playing to thier potential, even with a 6 point deduction we could still go up. This league is absolutely shite and only Coventry have shown any form. Normally need 90+ points for autos, which cov should hit, but I'd be amazed if anyone else got anywhere near 90 points this season.

0-10 on corners does tend to suggest one-way traffic and conceding a lot of potentially dangerous set pieces, so yeah.

Original post who cares how many corners we or the opposition have , read to me as if, in any game, conceding corners was irrelevant.  It isn't.

 

If you are talking just about this game, strictly speaking it doesn't matter because we got away with it, but it does suggest a bit of a crappy shithouse performance, which is a problem for us because crappy performances will tend to end in crappy results.

Always wonder if Patson is just being a soft chops, but these Stoke lads were giving him snide little pushes, and bloody Ben Pearson was caught on camera pushing him about 3-4 times, but he got almost nothing. (bless his cotton socks)

You’ve got to start somewhere. After the debacle against Blackburn at home, most of us would have given anything for a few battling performances that got us some points even if the quality was low. Well in the three games since I think the team has shown a lot of resilience. Seven points from nine isn’t bad, especially as two of the three teams we played are in the top three. 
 

Yes, the quality was not great today, but that will improve as the team becomes more confident. And ugly wins are a great way to build confidence.
