Dropping Stolarczyk for Begovic is brave.   Mavididi at centre forward is even braver!!

Game day

The KP later...:tumbleweed:

I'm still deciding whether I want to go or not, and that's depressing as I usually love boxing day games (except Liverpool away, as the timing of that was ridiculous)

Stolarcyzk, Ricardo and Ayew have been poor - why keep picking underperforming players?! Vestergaard has a knock - even if he’s available I don’t think his performances justify selection.

My suggestions for those coming in for them highlights how poor our squad is.

Would much rather Stephy up top over Carranza, Monga and Ramsey aren’t match fit and in the situation we are in Hamza would be a safer option than Aluko.

In all my years of being a season ticket holder unless I have been away I have only missed one game and that was Middlesbrough this season. I couldn’t face going down there after the dire performance against Blackburn.

I won’t be going today. There are 14 of us that all have tickets in the same area of G2 and none of us are going.

A poor result, performance and a lot of empty seats could really crank the pressure on Marti. I imagine the club expected to be challenging at the top end of the division and performance levels to be significantly better and more entertaining, likewise I also think the club will have expected crowds to be higher aligned to the expected performance levels.

This drop off in attendances and the impact to finances and the general apathy from the fanbase could be a big factor in Marti keeping his job. To be 13th at this stage and performances and entertainment levels tanking this season, which is having a detrimental impact on attendance and matchday revenues will not be going unnoticed and I could see this becoming a key reason to make a change.

Marti desperately needs a win and a cracking performance to start to turn the tide. More of the same today and I think he will do well to survive to the FA Cup 3rd round tie at Cheltenham.

Why not just treat it how we used to treat a match previously, as in, it’s a bit part of a full day out with mates or in your case, family that haven’t been together for 10yr.

Win lose or draw it’s about the 2 people ya with don’t allow it to be about anything else & just enjoy the craic

This, went to horror show last week. Had a great day out with my mates spoilt by the football. Great time with friends nonetheless.

That is a proper dog muck pick. I realise we have terrible players but Jesus that is a bottom three team.

Really undecided on whether to go today. Part of me wants to as I've missed quite a few of the last home games, but the other part me thinks if I go then I'm sacrificing valuable time with the family, which if the team put in a QPR style performance will really pee me off. Also, not sure I can be bothered standing in the freezing cold for a few hours if they team don't show up today.

We need a run of form, not just a good win and performance today. The QPR game was a real kick in the teeth when it felt like things might be turning. Think he lost a lot of the fanbase with that game.

It's perhaps worth pointing out that getting there from my neck of the woods has been made harder by there being no trains....

I'm sure some of you might regard that as divine intervention.

I would like to see this line up, the dross removed from the back and up front.  Begovic isn't scared to pass the ball quickly, unlike Jakob so that's a plus.  Ayew is great for breaking up play, shame it's always an attack and arguing with the ref because they didn't fall for his cheating.

From what I've seen all season, other than 2 halves of two games, it doesn't matter who they play, they don't play as a team due to the management, lack of tactics and defined roles.

Mavadidi needs to start realising he plays in a team and he is allowed to pass to someone ahead of him.  The same with Fatawu, what's the point of JJ busting a gut to get the team up the pitch if the wingers won't rarely bother to run into the space he has created to receive a pass, forcing him to go sideways or back.  His numbers would be even better if he consistantly  did the simple things that he can do so well, then add the flair on top, rather than the other way round.  The same for Monga but he hasn't had a good professional manager guiding him yet.  He should probably hire Albrighton for some private coaching.

We need a massive upgrade on attitude at the end of the season, either from the players already having it like JJ or a manager to drill into them purpose.

Yeah let's drop statistically one of the best goalkeepers in the division! What a great idea!
