Jazzy_Jeff Posted 16 January Posted 16 January Ordinarily I’m excited for a match against a local rival but I don’t feel any emotion for this one. If we get a positive result, it’s papering over the cracks. If we get battered, it’s not going to be a surprise. I just hope that Page gets a start and we put 100% in. Can’t see either happening sadly. 3

Metal Lover Posted 16 January Posted 16 January Hope we can put together a performance and get a result. The situation at the club is such that change isn't going to be easy or swift. It is what it is for the foreseeable future. 1
JonnyBoy Posted 16 January Posted 16 January Either result is good, win for obvious reasons. Lose it will put more pressure on the board/team/manager and probably final straw for a lot of fans to attend another game all season. Such a nailed on loss, can't see how any other outcome
Foxin_Mad Posted 16 January Posted 16 January If this clownhead returns Soumare and Vesty to the squad he needs to go immediately. 3
TeamRocket Posted 16 January Posted 16 January Defo lose this game and the next and then draw and win, win. That's what we seem to do lose 2 game draw 1 win 2.

I think he’ll start JV and his mini me Nelson as CBs. They’ll both be pressed after slowing the game down and struggle to complete any passes into the middle, as per all season. Marti won’t change anything on the pitch other than shuffle players around.
Tuna Posted 16 January Posted 16 January They need to be up for it. Really fear for us if we concede early and the heads go down. 2

ALC Fox Posted 16 January Posted 16 January Could go either way, this. We could win it 3-0 and only be good for 20 minutes. We could lose 3-0 and only be atrocious for 20 minutes. And any other type of result could happen really. The only thing we can predict is that we won't put together a coherent performance and there will be questions about the team and the manager regardless. 4
Phil Mitchell Posted 16 January Posted 16 January We don’t do clean sheets like me and kat/shirley/sharon don’t so need at least 2 goals here. Phil 4
Tommy Fresh Posted 16 January Posted 16 January These are obviously considerably better than Derby but the only way I can see us not losing is if we seem as up for it as the first half away at Derby
Scanchez Posted 16 January Posted 16 January Taking in to account how terrible we are, I think we'll lose this match. 1

The only thing we can predict is that we won't put together a coherent performance and there will be questions about the team and the manager regardless. Coventry will be the fourth team we've played twice this season after Derby, Sheff Utd and West Brom. We outplayed and beat Derby on both occasions. We were outplayed and beaten by Sheff Utd on both occasions. Against West Brom we scored an injury time goal to scrape a draw away, then scored an injury time goal to scrape a win at home (although a draw would have been fair). These results imply that we seem to be better suited to playing some sides than others, and that this remains consistent whether we are home or away. Against Coventry at home we were marginally the better side and probably should have won, although a draw wasn't an unreasonable reflection of the game. We were pretty evenly matched. I think it will be tight again tomorrow, ending in a draw or a narrow win for either side. Edited 16 January by ClaphamFox 1
AKCJ Posted 16 January Posted 16 January Its that time again where I try and put together a squad that I'd be happy with only to realise I have a deep hatred for about 15 of our squad. 1 1

Inferior players in this league make up "better teams", not due to their quality but because they are organised, structured and there is not constant failure in the management of their clubs. Too many times fans here get distracted and focus too much on the players, it is a lot more deeper than that and we should all know that by now. The noise around and inside the club has led to this situation, akin to Man United. Its especially amusing when people take digs at Fatawu, a player that puts his all on the pitch everyday and the least of our problems. He was developing under Maresca and then all of a sudden, big shock, Cooper comes in and freezes him out. Lack of playing time under cooper, leads to a major injury at AFCON. His entire Premier League season ruined. Comes back this season, the club is in even a bigger mess, but our fans are mad that he's posting positive encouraging stories on his instagram? Is Fatawu running this club into the ground? Does he decide the awful tactical setup we play? Is he conducting the training drills? Three destructive aspects that are down to Top, Rudkin and Cifuentes. Edited 16 January by BrilliantFox 1

If Fatawu’s form deemed as “blowing hot and cold” whereas I see it as, a player not being played to their strengths. None of our attacking players are….. some of the more experienced ones like Bobby seem to be doing okay, but that will be more down to his experience as a pro over what Marti is doing. Top to bottom the whole lot is rotten. For us to have any success in this current set up, we need an outstanding coach. We haven’t had that since Enzo left, so the rot has not firmly set in on the pitch too. None of our young players have improved. I’d say there’s been self development with the likes of Page…. But no one has improved, but a lot of regressed. Nothing will improve as long as things stay like this. We are doing exactly what landed us in this mess, clinging onto hope, hope that things will tie a corner but they never will. We will win a couple of scrappy games, and then he panned for a couple of games. Poor leadership, poor coach, no plans on or off the pitch… we’re just drifting and it’s such a dangerous place to be… especially with a potential points deduction on the horizon. 1

This isn't the Premier League we're talking about. I don't think fans realise that there is talent, but the nature of the club is so broken and dysfunctional that good players are not performing at their levels due to poor management and poor leadership that includes the entire board and ownership. You cannot flourish under the circumstances at LCFC. Players cannot improve here, nor can they be maximised. In football you want to extract the most out of your players, but that simply isn't possible in this environment. A rotten culture breeds rotten performances. I think there are too many instances of this to ignore to be honest. Justin and Edouard have have looked better since leaving us. It's just too frequent to be a coincidence. 1
SK3Blue Posted 16 January Posted 16 January I’m usually fired up for this as someone who resides in Warwickshire and hates the sky blue scum, but feeling pretty emotionless about the game, just want some progress off the field. 1
